Over the last lot of years, Emmerdale have loved getting little cameos from famous faces. And it seems the next one that has been lined up may be a fan favourite. It’s been reported that the iconic Neighbours star Jason Donovan will be featuring on Emmerdale in a very special storyline. But as part of the storyline, he won’t exactly be playing a character. While not much is known about his stint on the show, it’s believed he is there to surprise Lydia Dingle in the Woolpack. Lydia hasn’t been on our screens quite a lot recently, with a lot of fans wondering if Karen Blick had left the show. But it seems all of that is about to change. A source told The Sun: “Everyone was really excited Jason was up for taking part. It was really fun and Jason was a real pro. He enjoyed his cameo.” The outlet also reported that the plot will see Lydia miss a chance to see Jason in concert, leading to the villagers organising a surprise for her. No exact date of the episodes has been released but it’s believed to be in the run-up to Christmas. Taking to a Reddit thread, one fan shared the news, adding: “I’m quite excited to see how it will play out on screen.” Another agreed: “People have been saying they want more lighthearted and fun. This sounds like a lovely break from the darkness. Just what we need in the build-up to Christmas.” “No way! Oh my days! Jason Donovan is a legend and known to soap fans. What a coup for the producers to sign him up!” a third penned. However, one fan wasn’t sure if it made sense for the show. They commented: “I’m very confused on how the Emmerdale team have pulled this off. But also the story thing of the villagers somehow getting him to come to the Woolpack.
