Lexi Nicholls arrives in Emmerdale

Arriving in what came to be true Lexi style, Carrie Nicholl‘s supposed sister first came in through a kitchen window at Home Farm! Rodney Blackstock tried to get her to leave, but she revealed she was related to Carrie.

Lexi soon bedded in with a job at the Woolpack and later the factory, but it was clear her relationship with Carrie was difficult. But Lexi did get on well with Carrie’s daughter Scarlett.

She also forged a friendship with Chas and Debbie Dingle, which saw them steal a necklace together. Howeve, Debbie double-crossed them and Lexi lashed out!

Lexi revealed as Carrie’s daughter

Carrie was embarrassed by her sister’s behaviour and it was then Lexi dropped her first bombshell.

It turned out Lexi knew the truth: Carrie was her birth mother and Carrie’s parents adopted Lexi as Carrie was just 14 when she had her. Although Carrie admitted it was true, she refused to acknowledge they were mother and daughter.

She did tell Lexi her father was called Barry and they weren’t in love. Lexi was upset and left the village.

Carl King and Lexi Nicholls in Emmerdale

After having a fling with Ross Kirk, Lexi turned her attentions to Carl King. At first Lexi was employed by Matthew to spy on Carl, but Carl didn’t believe Chas when she told him what was going on.

When it was finally revealed Chas was right, Lexi and Carl broke up. However they soon reunited.

Lexi then went to Thailand to attend Carrie’s wedding – she had left by this time. When she returned she revealed Carrie had told her about Carl killing his dad Tom.

Carl was horrified, especially as he had been planning to break up with Lexi. He felt he had to stay with her and they ended up engaged.

They married on March 31 2009, but Carl almost didn’t turn up! He had been trying to persuade Chas to get back together with him. However, she refused so he married Lexi as second best.

Baby drama and exit

Desperate to cement their union Lexi wanted to try for a baby. Carl clearly didn’t want kids with her, but he agreed and she fell pregnant.

Tragedy struck when the pregnancy was ectopic and Lexi’s fallopian tubes badly damaged. IVF was her only option to conceive, but Carl confessed he didn’t want any more children. Lexi chose to stay with him rather than have a family.

However, it was clear she wasn’t okay. When Nicola King gave birth to Angelica in August 2009, Lexi took the baby. She went up to the hospital roof where a showdown with Carl finally revealed the truth: Carl had never loved her and only married her because of what she knew.

Lexi handed the baby over and then decided to leave the village for good.
