Rosemary continues to interfere

Perdy tells Gray that Rosemary lied about his father, who shot himself. Later, Gray confides in Paul and it’s clear that Perdy’s words are making him doubt his mother’s character. Paul tells him he needs to speak to Rosemary.

Meanwhile, Matthew visits Perdy in hospital and says he has suspicions that Rosemary has poisoned her. Matthew says Rosemary is dangerous and he tells Perdy to play along with Rosemary’s plan and pretend to accept her ‘illness’. Perdy is grateful for Matthew’s support. She blurts out her troubles with her marriage, even telling him that Grayson is gay.

Rosemary is unhappy with Gray’s increasing closeness to Paul. She tries to stir things up by hinting to Jonny that it may be more than friendship. However it backfires and she is surprised to find out that Jonny already knows that Gray is gay. But she realises she still has the ammunition to distance Paul and her son.

Rosemary then tells Gray that Jonny knows his secret, which leads to Gray angrily confronting Paul for betraying his trust.

Paul is cold with Jonny for causing a rift between him and Gray. A miserable Jonny apologises to Gray in a bid to make things right. Paul is later relieved when Gray apologises for being so touchy. Jonny tells Paul that he loves him and Paul says it back in an attempt to forget about his growing feelings for Gray.

Elsewhere, Rosemary is determined to get Katie together with Gray. Her plan seems to be working when Katie mentions that she feels sorry for Gray. Katie and Paul visit Perdy, but Katie feels down when she learns that Perdy is on the mend as she had enjoyed having Gray to herself.

Donna closes in on Eli

Donna is determined to find out more about a recent robbery in the area. Marlon feels nervous and on the defensive. Donna believes it may be linked to the raid at the bookies, leading Debbie to hint that Donna is getting close to the truth,

Marlon is angry that Eli has told Debbie about the robbery, but Eli assures Marlon that Debbie won’t blab. Marlon is angered further when he discovers that Eli has stashed stolen goods at the house. He orders Eli out of the house, but Eli says he will only leave if Marlon helps him with one last job.

Donna looks at CCTV and notices the robber spraying paint onto the camera. She suddenly remembers that Eli had paint on his arm at the hospital in the aftermath of the shooting, and after a bit more digging she discovers that Eli lied about where he was.

Meanwhile, Marlon agrees to help Eli rob The Woolpack, but he freezes when Eli tries to force the door as memories of the previous robbery come flooding back.

Donna moves out and back in again

When Donna reveals what she has discovered to Marlon, he realises that there’s no choice but to come clean about the whole thing.

Donna is horrified by Marlon’s confession and she refuses to believe that Eli didn’t push him into it. Marlon insists that the robbery was his idea, but he tells her that he did it for her and the kids. Marlon also reveals that Eli has been blackmailing him.

Eli walks in and is stunned that Marlon has told Donna the truth about the robbery. He regains his composure and sneeringly says that she won’t tell the police. Eli goes to see Debbie and reveals what has happened and Debbie organises a meeting.

Debbie reminds Donna of the Dingle code, but when Donna reveals that she’s thinking of reporting both Marlon and Eli, Debbie points out that Donna’s career would be over. Donna knows Debbie is right, but she tells Marlon their marriage is over and she’s going to move in with Viv.

Donna has to dodge questions from her family. Bob, meanwhile, tries to encourage Marlon to make up with his wife. Donna worries that the truth about the robbery will come out, so she decides to move back into Tall Trees Cottage to present a united front.

Ashley visits Laurel and the baby in hospital, while Shadrach also pops in to see them and basks in his accidental heroism as they give him their praise.

Billy confesses his love for Diane

Diane is jealous as she watches Val with Billy and she finds her feelings difficult to deal with. She later feels more left out when she sees Jack going through old photos of Sarah with Victoria.

Later, Diane schemes to push Val back into Eric’s arms and she reminds her of how generous Eric was with her. Val searches for an old Christmas gift of a rather nice locket from Eric and Diane mentions Val’s search to him. But her plan backfires when Eric confronts Val and she petulantly says she was going to pawn the locket.

Diane and Billy argue about Diane’s efforts to split Billy up from Val and it puts them both in a bad mood. They later have another showdown, but their harsh words turn to passion. Billy blurts out that he’s in love with Diane and begs her to finish with Jack. As Billy passionately kisses her and she gives into his kisses, Jack knocks at the pub door.

Billy continues to encourage Diane to finish with Jack. Instead she tells Jack that she needs to go away for a while. Billy implores Diane not to run away from her feelings, but Diane insists that’s exactly what she’s going to do.

Diane says she’s going to Brighton to stay with Bernice and both Victoria and Jack worry that they’ve driven her away. Billy discovers where Diane is planning to go and in a desperate move, he steals a car from the garage in an attempt to stop Diane at the station. Diane refuses to stay and Billy is in big trouble when Debbie notices the missing car and calls the police.
