Kelly discovers she’s pregnant

When Kelly arrives for her photo shoot, the stylist confirms her fears that she has put on weight. Desperate to impress, Kelly informs Scarlett that she’s going on a diet. She avoids eating breakfast and ends up fainting!

At the hospital, after some routine tests, Kelly is shocked to be told she’s pregnant. However, she manages to hide this news from Jimmy when he comes to pick her up.

Kelly realises that if she decides to keep the baby, she’ll have to say goodbye to her newfound career. She suffers morning sickness, which is set off again when Jimmy cooks her breakfast. When Scarlett finds her being sick, she worries that Kelly may have bulimia.

Kelly tells Scarlett the truth and confides in the teenager that she is considering having an abortion without telling Jimmy. Kelly’s mind is in turmoil as she tries to decide what to do.

When Rodney tells Kelly the latest pictures look great and Jimmy encourages Kelly to pursue her dream, Kelly’s mind is made up and she secretly books an abortion.

Kelly has an abortion

Scarlett offers to go to the clinic with Kelly, though Carrie is unnerved at how much time Scarlett is spending with Kelly and tells her daughter to find some friends her own age.

Kelly overhears the conversation and feels guilty that she has confided in young Scarlett about the abortion. She then feels guilty for lying to Jimmy after he suggests a day out together when she’s due at the clinic for her abortion.

At the clinic, Kelly is grateful for Scarlett’s support as she breaks down in tears. A worried Scarlett questions whether Kelly should go through with it, but Kelly puts her reservations to one side and resolves to go ahead.

Carrie and Jimmy soon realise that Kelly and Scarlett have both lied about their whereabouts, confronting them when they return home. A tipsy Scarlett lies that Kelly took her out to buy Carrie a present, but Carrie doesn’t believe her.

Later in the week, Kelly heads out to Hotten to have her second abortion appointment and she struggles to hide her guilt from Jimmy. Jimmy is worried by her down mood and offers to make her the face of King Enterprises. Kelly decides there is only one thing for it – to look forward to her modelling career.

Chas wakes up next to a dead man

Following a row with Carrie, Lexi decides to have a night out on the town with Chas to cheer herself up.

The girls spot an attractive guy and they make a bet about who can bed him first. Lexi makes a fool of herself and Chas wins the bet.

However, the fun doesn’t last as when Chas wakes up in the morning next to the conquest, Colin, she’s horrified to see he is dead!

She calls Lexi, who suggests they flee. However, Chas is later tracked down and questioned by the police as the room was booked in her name. During questioning she discovers Colin’s wallet is missing and angrily realises that Lexi is the culprit.

Colin’s wife wants answers

Lexi and Chas learn that Colin was one of the MacFarlane crime family, and his widow Brenda is on the warpath.

Chas is horrified and worried when Paddy tells her that a ‘Mrs MacFarlane’ is looking for her. But she soon wonders if Lexi is trying to wind her up and she accuses Paddy of playing a prank.

Then when Chas is confronted by Mrs MacFarlane she thinks it’s a big practical joke and makes some crude remarks about Colin’s demise

However, she’s appalled when she realises that it’s no joke. Chas does a runner, collecting Lexi on the way and they flee to an abandoned farmhouse.

Rosemary terrorises Perdy

Rosemary arranges for Grayson to go on a business trip and asks Katie to accompany him. She then plants seeds in Perdy’s mind that Grayson may fall for Katie.

Rosemary then takes her plan further and adds more pills to Perdy’s dinner. Perdy’s jealousy is later out of control when Katie innocently answers the phone in Gray’s hotel room.

After Perdy conks out, Rosemary leaves the door open, enabling Perdy’s kitten to escape. Rosemary makes out it was Perdy’s fault and is delighted that Perdy is distraught.

Rosemary feeds Perdy more pills and Perdy is then convinced she can hear scratching in the attic, so she goes in search of her missing cat. However, instead she finds packs of baby grows. Rosemary convinces her she must have ordered them, leading an emotional Perdy to break down.

Rosemary convinces Perdy to see a doctor and feels triumphant when the doctor says Perdy may have psychosis.

Carl and Barraclough get close

Carl heads out for his date with Grace Barraclough, but she’s guarded with him at first. She asks why he’s been playing games and tries to discover who Tom’s killer is.

Carl manages to avoid the issue and he invites her to his hotel room where they sleep together.

Barraclough tells him that things have to stop, but she can’t resist when he kisses her again. The pair then have a romp in a lay by, before spending a romantic day together.

Paddy caught in the middle

Rosemary warns Paddy against partnering with the Kings and instead presents him with her own offer.

Paddy decides to accept Rosemary’s offer, which angers Matthew. Matthew warns Rosemary that she should expect a backlash.

With arguments raging around him, Chas hands in her resignation, leaving Paddy standing between Rosemary and the Kings.

Matthew visits Hari again to try and get him to up his demands, but is left feeling irate when he discovers that Hari has already sold his shares in the vet’s. He warns Hari never to return to the village.

Matthew then storms round to see Paddy and tells him that Rosemary will ruin him. Paddy refuses to be swayed.

Paul shares a secret

Paul and Jonny decide to move in together. The two men later gossip about Katie’s burgeoning crush on Grayson.

Jonny implies that Gray may be looking to replace Perdy, but Paul jumps to Gray’s defence and accidentally lets slip that Gray is gay.

Jasmine makes a discovery

Jasmine is cross when she sees David flirting with Lexi and she turns down his offer of another driving lesson. She questions why David bought her a car and she explains that after being led on by Cain she struggles to trust men.

David tries to win Jasmine’s trust by confessing that he and Eric have owned Jacobs Fold all along, but Jasmine is horrified by the news. David is puzzled when Jasmine avoids him in the cafe and ignores his offer of dinner.

She later tells David that she’s appalled after learning that he and Eric scammed Pearl and insists that he tell Pearl the truth.

David can’t go through with it, so Jasmine tells Pearl herself – although she puts the blame squarely on Eric’s shoulders. She also encourages Pearl to sell her story to the paper to get her own back.

David and Jasmine decide they are evens after the article – and reunite. But she later does a u-turn and tells David she won’t consider getting involved with him again.

Pearl hurt by Pollard’s betrayal

Pearl is excited about her theatre date with Eric, but she’s later horrified to find out that Eric thought the two tickets were both for him and he has asked a member of the council to accompany him.

She accuses Eric of leading her on, but he says he was never attracted to her in the first place. An upset Pearl confides in Edna that she’s made a fool of herself.

The sadness soon turns to fury following Jasmine’s revelation and Pearl tears up Eric’s rental agreement.

When Eric later refuses to pay Pearl her wages, her and Duke hurl stones at Jacobs Fold, smashing a window. Eric calls the police and Pearl and Duke are arrested.

Following Pearl’s article, Eric realises he is public enemy number one. However, he still refuses to give Pearl back her belongings from the house, so Duke organises a walk-out at the factory.

David stands up to his dad and he points out that the factory is in big trouble with production stopped and a reluctant Eric agrees to give Pearl her job back – especially when Pearl confronts him and he has a close call with a sewing machine needle!
