Perdy gets unexpected support

Rosemary is causing Perdy problems simply by living in her house! And she’s even more annoyed when Gray arranges a client dinner  and asks Rosemary to help with the catering instead of her.

So to rattle her mother-in-law, Perdy invites Jonny and Paul to the dinner and muscles in on the catering. But Rosemary is happy when everything backfires on a stressed-out Perdy. She loses her cool and hurls a pan across the kitchen!

Later, Gray is worried about his wife’s erratic behaviour after the trauma of her hysterectomy. He points out that her outburst at the dinner party was concerning and even suggests that Perdy might like to try counselling. Perdy though is determined she can control her moods with medication instead.

When Rosemary finds out about Perdy’s medication, Perdy is surprised when her mother-in-law is supportive rather than being her usual mean self. Rosemary reveals that her first husband suffered from depression.

Marlon gets shot!

Marlon can’t bring himself to tell Donna that he’s lost all their savings. He’s feeling guilty when Donna tells him how much she’s hoping they’ll be able to buy Tall Trees. Instead, he talks to Eli about the mess he’s made, and vows to return to the bookies and get what he’s owed.

Eli agrees to help, but on condition that Marlon follows his lead. Marlon agrees.

When they turn up to do the job at the bookies in a stolen car, Marlon starts having second thoughts. And he’s even more horrified when his unpredictable brother reveals that he’s brought a gun!

Furious, Marlon starts arguing with Eli, and Eli marches off into the bookies himself.

The brothers argue and Eli goes into the bookies alone but Marlon is worried when Eli is gone for a while.

Going to see what’s gone wrong, Marlon walks in to see Eli threatening the manager and a customer with the gun! Realising everything’s out of control, Marlon tries to grab the weapon, there’s a tussle, and the gun goes off. Marlon is left in a pool of blood! He lies on the floor as he urges Eli to make a run for it!

Marlon fights for his life

Marlon’s rushed to hospital as a frantic Donna follows, terrified he’s going to die, just like her dad did. Guilt-stricken Eli tells Debbie what happened, and bursts into tears as she reveals Marlon’s fighting for his life.

Viv’s shocked to hear the news about Marlon and rushes to the hospital to be by Donna’s side. But when the Dingles show up, she and Lisa are soon butting heads. Eventually, though, the stress of the day makes the women realise that there are more important things than their feud and they find a way to put their differences aside.

There’s huge relief for Donna when Marlon wakes up and she’s super-proud when Barraclough turns up at the hospital and announces Marlon is a hero. She says he tried to prevent a robbery, and Marlon fudges the details. Meanwhile, Eli panics when he arrives at the hospital and sees Barraclough there.

Bob and Viv make a go of it – again!

Back home, Viv’s grateful for Bob’s support while Marlon was critical in hospital. She’s soon lashing out at him again, though, once things are back to normal. With some effort, she manages to stop herself, and instead she asks Bob to come back to her and have another go at their marriage.

Marlon faces the consequences

Meanwhile, Marlon’s furious with his brother, and not impressed when he’s forced to cover for him with Barraclough again.

And he’s left feeling guilty when the grateful bookie shows up with his winnings! He fesses up to Donna about the bet, and she’s disappointed in him. When he tells Eli he wants to tell Donna the truth about everything – even the robbery – Eli warns him that if he does, it’ll destroy him.

Meanwhile, a delighted Donna is thrilled to have enough money for a deposit in the house auction, but worried they’ll have to go up against Eric. Zak suggests that if Jasmine writes an article about Marlon’s heroism, it might help them win the auction.

When Jasmine’s story hits the papers, it’s a big success and even makes the nationals. But a chat with Donna about the night of the shooting, leaves Donna surprised to hear that Marlon gave Jasmine a lift to Hotten. She realises Marlon’s not being honest about everything that happened, and Marlon feels bad.

There’s good news for Marlon and Donna as well-wishers donate money for their house fund. But Barraclough has more questions for Marlon. Afterwards, she tells Donna how odd it is that Marlon can remember everything that happened during the robbery, but not what took place just before.

Donna is quick to defend her husband, but at home with him she quizzes him further.
