Andy’s got a proposal for Jo, and the real identity of the mysterious Mrs De Souza is revealed – much to the surprise of the villagers! These episodes originally aired in September 2007. Read on to find out more in our Classic Emmerdale preview. Grayson finds out the truth Perdy is home for good, but Rosemary is determined to stop her settling back into life with Grayson. She tells Katie that she found some hidden pills and she’s worried about what Perdy may be planning. Concerned Katie believes Rosemary’s lies and it’s not long before she tells Grayson what Rosemary is worrying about. But when Grayson speaks to his wife about it, poor Perdy is scared by the extent of Rosemary’s scheming. Meanwhile, Rosemary takes things even further when she drafts a suicide note from Perdy. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Grayson’s horrified when Rosemary shows him the suicide note she’s written. With his head reeling he goes to see the doctor who accidentally lets slip that he prescribed Rosemary anti-malaria pills for her fictional ‘trip to Kenya’. As the pieces suddenly fit together for Grayson, the horror of what’s been happening sinks in. He confronts Rosemary. He’s horrified as she tells him everything she’s done, she’s done for him. With his mind racing, he starts to wonder if she’s the one who killed his own father and Tom King. When Rosemary says – again – that Grayson should be with someone who can give him children, he loses his temper and throws his manipulative mother out on the street! Rosemary disappears overnight, leaving her dogs with Paddy. Paddy’s concerned about Rosemary’s whereabouts but Grayson insists that he couldn’t care less where his mother is. It’s clear that her disappearance is affecting him more than he admits, though. He turns to the bottle for comfort. Belle finds him drowning his sorrows and she tries to reassure him. Will she get through? Wanting to cheer him up, he invites him for lunch. But Gray hits the booze and when Matthew goads him, Grayson storms out. Paul tries to comfort his friend, who reveals all about Rosemary’s evil deception. But Gray passionately kisses Paul instead! Paul is stunned by their kiss but he makes a quick exit, confused by his feelings for Gray. Later, Grayson tracks down Paul and apologises for kissing him. He brushes it off as a mistake but Paul seems hurt. Finally Gray realises that Paul has feelings for him. But the pair end up bickering. Feelings bruised, Paul stomps off and agrees a wedding date with Jonny. Jo and Andy’s hot air balloon ends – finally – with a proposal! (Credit: ITV/Shutterstock) Classic Emmerdale: Jo gets her man! Jo’s delighted when Andy’s divorce papers come through. She says they should go on holiday to celebrate but Andy says they’re too skint. Jo sulks and the pair end up in a huge row. Katie can’t resist a dig at Jo, pointing out she’s got no engagement ring, and had no celebration. Later, Andy bumps into Katie. She tells him one of her clients is taking her up in a hot air balloon. When he sees that the trailer carrying the balloon has broken down, he offers to help in return for a favour… Andy tells Jo that he needs her at home that afternoon but she’s still grumpy about it, and tells him she’s having none of it. However, when she storms off outside she’s thrilled to see a hot air balloon waiting for her in the field. Delighted at her surprise, she can’t wait to get started. Impatient, she jumps in the basket while Andy goes to get their coats. But Jo’s joy soon turns to horror when one of the goats decides to chew through the rope holding the basket down, and the balloon takes off! Jo’s lifted into the air, screaming her head off! Andy and Sugdens give chase until the balloon finally crash lands in a nearby field. When Jo’s composed herself, Andy produces an engagement ring and she accepts his proposal. Aww! David takes on Mrs De Souza – but who is she? David’s desperately trying to get his business back from the De Souzas so he resorts to dirty tactics! He orders Jasmine and Betty to add paint stripper to the De Souzas’ cloths. It seems to have worked later as Val’s furious when the varnish is stripped off the bar. She sacks the De Souzas and gives the contract back to David. Later the De Souza rep arrives and tells David that Mrs De Souza would like to meet. David goes along as requested, but he’s annoyed at being kept waiting. Just as he’s about to leave, the chair in the office spins round revealing Mrs De Souza. It’s Nicola! When Nicola tries to poach Betty, desperate David tops the offer leaving Betty satisfied and Mr Metcalfe in further financial trouble. Realising things don’t look good, he storms round to confront Nicola but she won’t budge. Miserable, David realises his only option is to start undercutting the De Souzas in order to get his business back. Classic Emmerdale: Zak goes back to boxing! Zak and Lisa meet with Belle’s headteacher to see if there’s anyway she can stay at her expensive school without Rosemary’s funding. It’s bad news, though, and the pair are worried about breaking Belle’s heart by telling her she’ll have to leave. Zak announces he’s going to go back to bare-knuckle fighting in order to make enough money to pay the school fees. Lisa’s not impressed but when Belle can’t hide her devastation over having to leave her school, Lisa agrees. Zak lines up another fight with Michael O’Shea. Terry sees Zak training and when he finds out why he’s fighting, he talks to his ex-boxer dad, Duke. Duke offers to train Zak up for the big match. When Zak pulls a muscle during training, Sam panics that his dad’s having a heart attack. But as the day of the bout arrives, Zak’s ready for it. He proudly turns down O’Shea’s generous offer of two grand to throw the fight and steps up. But once the fight begins, it’s clear Zak’s in trouble. Sam takes drastic action to protect his dad, and calls the police. Meanwhile, Zak’s managed to turn the fight around but just as it looks like he could be winning, the police arrive. Lexi and Debbie’s feud leads to big secrets being revealed! Debbie’s disappointed when she can’t find a buyer for the stolen necklace and she realises she’s going to have to go through Eric. Meanwhile, Lexi’s still spying on Debbie. She’s not impressed when she overhears Eric telling Debbie that she’ll have to wait while he gets in touch with his contact to sell the necklace. She confronts Debbie about it, and the pair end up having a furious row. The brawl soon spills out on to the street and the necklace slips down into a drain! Carrie though, is furious with Lexi’s behaviour. Lexi’s not Carrie’s sister! Annoyed at the criticism, angry Lexi turns her rage on Carrie. And the older Miss Nicholls is stunned when Lexi reveals that she knows the big family secret – she knows that Carrie isn’t her sister – she’s her mum! Carrie and Lexi have a huge heart to heart. Carrie wants to know how on earth Lexi knows the truth. Lexi admits that Carrie’s mum – her real grandmother – told her before she died. Wanting Lexi to understand what happened, Carrie explains that she was only 14 when she got pregnant, and she couldn’t cope with being a mother. But as the pair share their feelings, Carrie admits that she can never think of Lexi as a daughter. Though she tries to hide it, Lexi is hurt and vows to leave the village. When Scarlett finds out that Lexi could be leaving, she’s upset and runs off. Luckily, Daz knows where to find her. He tracks her down at Seth’s hide. When Scarlett refuses to come home, Daz brings Scarlett dinner. Scarlett impulsively kisses him. Daz reminds her he has a girlfriend, but he’s still chuffed! Lexi spots Daz buying provisions at the village shop. She follows him into the woods and finds Scarlett hiding out. Annoyed, she drags her home. But Scarlett’s disappointed when Lexi won’t come into the house and blames Carrie for driving her away. The Sugdens fall apart in Classic Emmerdale Victoria’s pleased to have some of her dad’s attention when he helps with a school project on their family tree. But Jack’s soon distracted again when Daz needs a lift to visit Billy in prison. Disgruntled Victoria starts smoking again and Jack doesn’t even notice. When Diane announces she’s staying with Bernice a little longer – missing her and Jack’s wedding anniversary – Jack’s disappointed. Victoria is angry with Diane for hurting her dad and she insults her, but Jack already frazzled and he snaps – blaming Victoria for breaking up his marriage. Victoria is devastated by her dad’s cruel words, and Jack regrets his outburst. Elsewhere, Kelly is worried about Jimmy spending time with Carrie, searching for missing Scarlett. Kelly is worried that Carrie has told Jimmy about her abortion. Kelly’s reassured when Jimmy confesses that Carrie has told her that she’s Lexi’s mum and delighted with the power this new information gives her. She warns Carrie that she knows her secret and if she ever tells Jimmy about the abortion, then she’ll tell Scarlett everything. But when Scarlett refuses to forgive Carrie for driving Lexi away, Carrie turns to Jimmy for comfort. He gives her a hug, just as Kelly walks in. Matthew and the Kings put in a bid for Holdgate Farm, wanting to expand their empire. But when Carl discovers the farm is in a state, they start to worry they might win! Luckily for them, mysterious Mrs De Souza swoops in and makes an offer well over the asking price!
