Emmerdale has finally revealed where Bear Wolf is and it’s clear things are very bad for him indeed. So how has it come to this?

With Paddy at last realising his dad is missing, viewers had their long-held suspicions confirmed on Friday (November 7) when we saw Bear is being held captive by Ray Walters. Which means evil Celia Daniels is also involved.

Paddy started the hunt for Bear in Emmerdale tonight

Earlier this year things hit rock bottom between Paddy and his dad Bear. Some very harsh words were exchanged and angry Paddy chucked him out. Paddy thought he was staying with old wrestling buddies in Ireland, but viewers knew Bear was definitely not in Ireland.

Tonight Paddy received a parcel for his dad. Mandy insisted they open it as no one had heard from Bear since July. Inside was a letter from Gnasha, who Bear is supposed to be staying with.

The letter confirmed Bear never even went to Ireland. Panicking Paddy immediately called round some of Bear’s other mates, but no one had seen or heard from him for months.

Mandy was sure Bear was just sulking over being thrown out. But Paddy was adamant Bear wouldn’t miss Eve’s birthday just to punish him.

Bear’s whereabouts revealed in Emmerdale

Paddy decided to call the police, but then we were given a glimpse of where Bear really is. A man was seen sitting in a rickety, dark old room, cowering on a bed in the corner.

The door was unlocked and Ray came in with a young woman – who happened to be Anya, the stowaway Caleb and Ruby found at the depot.

He demanded the man in the corner clean the girl up. Ray then left and locked them in again and the man pulled his hood down, revealing it was Bear himself.

Anya was sobbing as Bear recognised her – so they’d clearly been held captive for quite some time.

Special episode for Bear next week

So why is Ray holding Bear and Anya in a locked room? How far from the Dales are they really? And are there more of them in there?

All will be revealed next week when we see Bear’s special standalone episode. We will learn how he has fallen into hard times quite so suddenly and why he is now in a situation that he has no control over.

Lisa Riley, who plays Bear’s daughter-in-law Mandy Dingle on the soap exclusively told Emmerdale Insider recently that the episode will be “high-end drama”. She admitted: “It is going to be harrowing viewing. But I think it’s really important.

“When we tell these stories, we are informing people night after night of what’s going on everywhere, there are these grooming gangs and they are all over the country.

“By doing a story within Emmerdale, it’s incredible. We have become an informer. We also do it with Cancer storylines; it’s good to open people’s eyes. You can’t be an ostrich about something like this.”

Can Paddy and Mandy rescue Bear? And will Ray and Celia ever be stopped?
