Will anyone actually believe him?

Well, that was an extremely intense episode of Emmerdale as John Sugden jumped off a cliff with Aaron – while poor Robert watched the whole thing!

The moment finally arrived. Aaron Dingle discovered the truth about his husband. And the drama was well worth the wait.

But as the episode ended on a huge cliffhanger, Emmerdale spoilers show Robert will struggle to get anyone to believe him.

John jumped off the cliff with Aaron

The episode opened with Aaron trying to flee from John’s clutches. But once again, he was discovered and stopped. However, after John tried to get him to take more of the drugged water, Aaron made himself throw up to get rid.

When John headed to visit Mack, Aaron took his moment to escape. However, thanks to John’s high-technology surrounding his underground bunker, he was able to spot him on the camera.

But just as he went to chase after his husband, he came face-to-face with Robert, who had rushed there to make sure Aaron was okay.

The pair fought, and Robert was temporarily knocked out. But by the time he came back, John had confessed everything to Aaron.

Aaron was playing the smart game, making John think he forgave him for everything. But just as John was going to call the police to confess, Robert reappeared.

Instantly John changed back to the murderous man he is, and actually called the police pretending to be scared that Robert was going to throw him off the cliff.

Things turned VERY sinister when John told Aaron that if he can’t have him – then nobody can. And before Robert had the chance to do anything, John grabbed Aaron and plunged them both off the cliff.

Robert ends up in the frame in Emmerdale

Having just watched the love of his life be thrown off a cliff, Robert is obviously terrified.

But as most of the village love John and for some reason hate Robert, Emmerdale spoilers show he’s going to struggle to make people believe the truth.

And thanks to John’s 999 call, things just keep looking worse for Robert. And spoilers actually show he gets brought into the station for questioning.

But as he’s sitting there, all he can think about is if Aaron is okay.

Will anyone finally believe him? And is this the end of John’s reign of terror? Or should everyone watch their backs?

What else happened in Emmerdale tonight?

It was an Emmerdale episode entirely focussed on the John Sugden storyline tonight. But there was quite a lot of drama packed into one half hour episode.

Away from the intense cliff jump, Robert made it his mission to find Aaron no matter who tried to stop him.

And Mack's fate was once again revealed - but things could all change.

Read on for our full recap of Emmerdale tonight.

Robert was determined to find Aaron

As soon as he realised there was a chance Aaron was in danger, Robert made it his mission to track him down.

His first stop was asking Chas. But Chas being Chas told him that even if she knew their address, she wouldn't tell him. Ah, we all remember the time she was supportive of Aaron and Robert, she's going to be kicking herself when the truth comes out!

But that didn't stop Robert, as he headed to Eric to see if he knew where the cottage was.

Luckily for him, Eric had a few cards from John's mum and Robert set off on his way.

Aaron came so close to finding Mack in Emmerdale tonight

While attempting his escape from John in Emmerdale tonight, Aaron once again came so close to the bunker. So close that John was able to see him on his security cameras.

But because of the drugs in his system, Aaron didn't manage to hear Mackenzie's screams for help. And instead, kept moving through the woods to get away from John's clutches.

Mackenzie is alive (for now!)

After the axe-wielding scene, Mack's fate was left unknown. But in Emmerdale tonight, we once again saw that John is keeping him in the bunker.

While we can all rejoice that he hasn't been murdered, John made it clear to him that it was the last time he was visiting. And handed him a syringe of drugs that he won't wake up from.

He sinisterly told Mack that that's his way out if the pain gets too much, leaving Mackenzie crying out for help, begging for his life.
