Aaron Dingle John Sugden Nate's Death Share By Jade Brown Aug 18 2025 By Jade Brown Aug 18 2025 John got a scare in tonight’s Emmerdale – but it wasn’t seeing his husband in bed with Robert Sugden, instead he received the news that Nate’s murder case is being reopened. Viewers know that John Sugden was responsible for Nate’s death last year, after Nate reacted to the injection John administered on him. John threw Nate’s body in the lake. But earlier this year, the body was discovered and John subsequently set up newcomer Owen Michaels for the crime. The two reminisced about old times and quickly gave into temptation, ending up in bed together. Meanwhile, after speaking to daughter Debbie on the phone, Cain received a visit from DC Cole, who wanted to update Cain on Nate’s murder. As John was about to enter Keepers Cottage to check up on Robert on Victoria Sugden‘s behalf, Cain called out to him. Cain told John that DC Cole isn’t convinced that Owen killed Nate, especially as new evidence has come to light. John was shocked to hear this latest development and insisted to Cain that Owen was obviously guilty, they were just finding it difficult to prove it. However, Cain didn’t seem too convinced as he said: “Yeah, or whoever did it is still out there.” John aborted his plan to check on Robert – and thus didn’t catch him and Aaron – and walked off deep in thought, no doubt to come up with a new plan. Aaron stopped Robert smashing the house up Victoria told her brother that she couldn't trust him with Harry at the moment, informing him that he needed to get help. Robert took the news well – and threw a mug at the mirror (that'll be seven years bad luck, Rob). It didn't stop there as Robert continued to smash the place up. Fortunately, Aaron just happened to be walking past and he rushed in to stop Robert causing any further damage. As Aaron grabbed his ex-husband, Robert broke down in his arms. 2. Aaron made a confession After Robert had calmed down, he and Aaron sat on the sofa for a chat. Robert said he was embarrassed that Aaron had to see him like that before saying he should never have come back to the village. Robert then said that he only came back to Emmerdale because he wanted Aaron. The former couple reminisced about the past – mainly Aaron's cooking – before Aaron admitted that he had missed Robert. Robert soon leaned in for a kiss. There was a slight hesitation before Aaron kissed him back. 3. Mack confided in Ross In the pub, Ross was in wind-up merchant mode as usual. However he soon realised that Mack wasn't playing ball and apologised to him. Mack took this chance to open up to Ross. He told him that he was only miserable because it was 3 years to the day since Charity lost their baby and he is the only one who remembered. Ross tried to reassure Mack, telling him that Charity just has a lot on her mind. Mack soon came to the realisation that he's not OK with the surrogacy plan. 4. Charity chucked Mack out Charity did indeed have a lot on her mind and was busy enquiring how early in the pregnancy she could get a DNA test. Later, when Mack returned home and told Charity his true feelings, Charity saw red. She screamed at Mack for using their unborn baby against her. She told him she couldn't be around him at the moment and ordered him to go stay with Moira. 5. Dylan agreed to carry on working for Ray Dylan was feeling frustrated after he was turned down for yet another job. Meanwhile, April was also feeling down after not being given more responsibility at the bridal shop. She told Dylan she was going to redo her final year of school and get her GCSEs. Dylan later met Ray and insisted he was "out". Ray implied that Dylan was being ungrateful. Dylan took the comment to heart and, with money being tight, he agreed to work for Ray again – but only if April doesn't find out.
