Who is the father of Charity's baby? As Ross demands a paternity test everything we know

Ross won't let it go
Jade Brown

Ross refused to back down about Charity’s baby in Emmerdale tonight as he demanded proof that he isn’t the father.

Since discovering that Charity Dingle is pregnant as a surrogate for her granddaughter Sarah, Ross has wondered if it’s him and not the IVF that’s responsible for Charity’s pregnancy.

While Charity continues to insist the baby is Sarah’s, how will she deal with Ross’s demand for a paternity test?

Ross demanded evidence in Emmerdale tonight

Charity continued to try and reach out to missing Mack. She left him a voicemail, telling him he couldn’t leave his phone off forever.

Catching the tail end, Ross Barton approached Charity and asked about the reason for Mack’s sudden departure. He believes it to be due to Mack finding out about the two of them, but Charity denied this to be close.

Ross was not having it though and said he keeps coming back to the same conclusion: “It’s my baby, isn’t it?”

Charity insisted Ross was wrong, but he accused her of being too defensive. She tried to convince him that the hospital did tests. But this wasn’t enough for Ross – he wanted to see the evidence.

As Charity said she didn’t have any physical evidence due the tests having been done at the hospital, Ross responded: “Dead convenient, that.”

Ross then demanded a paternity test and insisted he would not be letting this go until he gets one. What will Charity do?

Could Charity be carrying Ross’s baby in Emmerdale?

Charity finds herself at breaking point to realise she now has yet another problem on her hands. Having previously admitted to Vanessa that the baby might not be Sarah’s, she clearly concerned that Ross could be right.

But it remains to be seen how she deals with the situation.

However, some fans don’t see how the baby could be Ross’s – as they think it’d be too early to tell. One fan wrote on X: “Surely not when she’d only slept with him the week before finding out and it couldn’t have been that quick?”

“Hang on, so she slept with Ross like two weeks ago, is now pregnant, and he’s asking if the baby is his? That doesn’t make sense,” asked another fan.

While other fans have their own wild theory, which would see Emmerdale running a similar plot line as Hollyoaks. One fan wrote: “That Baby is Ross’s (or at least one of them if it’s twins because the embryo worked).”

Another viewer added: “Twins. One is hers. The other one is Sarah’s.”

What else happened in Emmerdale tonight

Elsewhere in Emmerdale tonight, April and Dylan hit a rough patch after she betrayed his trust over his sex worker past.

As he told her to leave due to needing time and space, can the two work through their differences?

Read on for our full recap of Emmerdale tonight.

April confided Dylan's secrets to her dad

Dylan told April that he'd landed some labouring work, but she was suspicious of his story so followed him. She was horrified to see him getting into a car with a man.

Later, after seeing his daughter so worked up, Marlon asked what was going on. April eventually caved and told her dad Dylan used to do sex work and she is worried that he is going it again.

Marlon told April not to jump to conclusions, but April was convinced. She explained that Dylan is too proud to accept help or money from anyone, so this is his way of sorting it himself.

Dylan was hurt by April's betrayal in Emmerdale tonight

After seeing Dylan return and be handed money by the man, April had a go at Dylan for "going off with a perv." He admitted to lying about the labouring work, but told her he did a drug drop, not sex work.

Dylan soon discovered that April had told Marlon about his past, and he in turn had told Paddy. Dylan was upset by April's betrayal and said it'll just make people judge him more, or worse, pity him.

April apologised and said she'd do anything to make it up to him. But Dylan wasn't ready to forgive and told her to leave him alone and give him time to think.

Arthur is back

Arthur Thomas was back on screen after over five months away. It was a special occasion for Arthur as he was celebrating his 18th birthday.

As Laurel and Nicola attempted to embarrass him, he reminded them that he was officially an adult now.

Later in the Hide, Gabby got the beers in leaving Laurel concerned that things would get messy. But Arthur insisted he was fine and was actually planning going to visit his late dad in a bit anyway.

Vinny still couldn't tell the truth in Emmerdale tonight

Vinny invited Belle round to try get her to give Kammy another chance. He insisted that Kammy is a good man.

But when Belle asked Vinny directly if Kammy hit him, yes or no, he continued to lie and said yes, despite Kammy not laying a finger on him.

Vinny tried to apologise to Kammy, but Kammy wouldn't accept it. As Kammy tried to get Belle to believe him, he became frustrated when she insisted that Vinny would never lie.
