And now we know the truth, Liam Cavanagh knows the truth, but Robert Sugden and Aaron Dingle do not. The idea Robert only has to play along as Kev’s husband for another few months saw Rob and Aaron reunited tonight (Thursday November 6), but they have no idea it’s all going to come crashing down. Fans all suspected Kev was lying long before now and feel vindicated. But it’s not the lies that have them talking about this episode – it’s something else entirely. Aaron and Robert couldn’t deny their feelings (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale tonight – Robert and Aaron reunited, but the vow renewal went ahead Victoria was desperate to stop Robert making a huge mistake and recommiting to Kev. He insisted it was going ahead, but when she found his vows, she presented them to Aaron. It turned out they were the exact vows Robert had said to him. Aaron knew it meant their love was too deep so he took control, burst in to see Robert, kissed him and took him to the bedroom. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Robert then said he couldn’t lose Aaron again and he was going to end things with Kev. But at that moment, Kev had been taken to the hospital with chest pains. Liam had found him struggling for breath and gone there with him. Kev admitted he wasn’t taking his medication because he wanted to perform on his wedding night. He swore Liam to secrecy, but Liam went round to tell Robert where Kev was. Kev did make it to the vow renewal and at that point Aaron changed his mind. He said he and Robert could carry on an affair and he could give Kev what he needed in his final months. So Robert went ahead with the vow renewal knowing it was all lies and he and Aaron w0uld start their lives together before too long. The hospital visit had got him thinking so he’d dug out Kev’s medical records. After Kev’s speech stating that he’d be ‘worm food’ before too long, Liam confronted him in the toilets. It turns out though Kev does have heart disease, it is completely manageable and he could have “decades” left to live. Not just five months. Kev was very clear that Liam could not tell anyone this – and of course doctor-patient confidentiality forbids him from revealing the truth. So Liam is in a right pickle. Will he break his oath and tell Robert the truth so he and Aaron can be together? And what consequences would that have for Robert, Aaron – and for Liam? The Robert and Aaron scenes left viewers happy (Credit: ITV) Fans react Although most viewers were pretty pleased to be proven right over Kev’s lies, that wasn’t the part of the episode that got them talking. In fact, it was writer Isobel Cameron, who penned the episode, who came in for the most praise. They are all saying how brilliantly she wrote the dynamic and how she has to write every episode from now on! “Take a bow Isobel Cameron,” said one on social media, adding: “what scenes, what an ep!” Another agreed: “Isobel cameron, you have absolutely outdone yourself with that episode today. You know them SO WELL, to many more.” “Isobel Cameron you beautiful beautiful soul give her EVERY pay rise going NOW,” cheered a third. A fourth added: “Brillant episode today. Massive kudos to Isobel Cameron for a mountain of Robron treats. Ryan and Danny killing it as always.
