What happened in Emmerdale tonight to Lucas and Carl?

After Carl got a new phone for his birthday, he has been texting Clemmie non-stop. Nicola was pleased at the developing relationship and was encourging them to make it official – despite them being only being 10 and 11!

But as she picked out new clothes for Carl to impress his ‘girlfriend’ with, she was stopped in her tracks by a call from the school. Carl had been hit by another child and she needed to go and pick him up.

Seconds later Dawn was called by the school as well – Lucas was being sent home for hitting another child.

Do you see where this is going?!

Lucas had hit Carl, but refused to say why. Dawn decided getting an answer wasn’t important, she just wanted him to admit he was wrong and apologise, so she dragged him over to Laurel’s, where the Kings are staying, to so sorry.

But Lucas refused and Carl kept completely silent about their fight. Nicola threw them out and insisted she would make sure the bullying stopped and Carl was never hurt again.

Emmerdale spoilers reveal why Lucas hit Carl

But the truth of the matter will finally come to light on Friday – and Nicola will be shocked into silence. The police arrive in the village to talk to both the Kings and the Tates.

It is soon revealed that Clemmie sent Carl Jnr an indecent image of herself and he shared it with his friends. Now the whole school has seen it.

Carl will admit the truth to the police and they are set to take the whole matter very seriously. When Clemmie confesses to Dawn why she sent the photo in the first place, Dawn can’t help but blame herself.

Dawn decides she and Nicola should talk mother to mother, but it doesn’t go well. Nicola is defensive and the conversation becomes an argument.

Nicola and Laurel discuss the situation and realise how out of touch they are over their kids’ online habits. They agree they must work together to protect them from the dangers of the internet and social media.

Meanwhile, guilty Dawn opens up to Joe about her own past and how she was coerced into sex work and drugs. She vows to protect her kids in real life and online. But is it really that simple? And how can the families resolve this and move forward?
