John told Mack his plan

Following John’s discovery that Aaron Dingle slept with Robert, John came up with a plan.

He headed to the bunker, where Mack is being held, with a bottle of whiskey. But despite’s Mack’s joke that John had bought it for him, it soon became clear that John was planning on tampering with it and drugging Aaron.

John told Mack about the message left on Mack’s phone from Aaron. Despite Mack trying to convince John that Aaron just had a little wobble and still loves John, John was determined to forge ahead with his plan.

Mack warned John that poisoning the alcohol could kill Aaron, but John shouted at Mack that he won’t let him ruin it for him. As John left Mack in a heap on the floor, Mack spotted a penknife and tried his best to reach it.

Mack made his escape

After a struggle, John managed to reach the penknife. He then set to work trying to loosen the chain connector.

Despite being weak, Mackenzie Boyd managed to free himself and was soon pushing the hatch door open. However, unbeknown to him, John had hidden a camera and was alerted to Mack’s escape.

As Mack slowly made his way through the woods, John was hot on his tail and pushed him to the ground. He knocked Mack out before heading back to help a groggy Aaron.

Later, Mack was once again on his feet trying to find safety. He made it to the side of a road before collapsing. Fortunately for him, a van was passing. Unfortunately for him, the only person who ever seems to be in that area is John. This time, John came at him with an axe – can Mack survive again?

John drugged Aaron in Emmerdale tonight

John arrived at the cottage with the poisoned bottle of whiskey. He made up a story about having bought it when his mum was alive, claiming they’d agreed to save it for when she was better so they could have a drink together.

Feeling sorry for John, Aaron agreed to have a toast with him. But alas, John could only find one whiskey glass meaning Aaron did the toast alone. The drink immediately went to Aaron’s head and he headed to the sofa to sit down.

When John popped out, Aaron helped himself to another drink, making himself feel groggy. While John was dealing with Mack, Aaron stumbled outside, hitting his head in the process, and ended up in the woods.

As he shouted out for John, Mack shouted out Aaron’s name before being shut up by John. Aaron soon found himself at the hatch. But Aaron was too groggy to understand what was going on and he started to have a fit.

Before long, John arrived and took Aaron back home. John attempted to reassure Aaron that he had everything under control.

John called the helpline again

John struggled with thoughts of Aaron and Robert so decided to call the helpline again. And once again, Paddy answered – are there no other advisors?

Neither man recognised the other’s voice, so John shared all his worries, believing he was talking to a stranger.

John went into more detail about his situation and sharing that his brother had been in prison for killing someone. He ranted that his brother was a bad person, whereas he is a good person as he helps people due to being a medic and previously having been in the army.

John explained that Robert had immediately crashed his wedding upon his release from prison. It was this that finally caused the penny to drop for Paddy and he realised who he was talking to.

John told Paddy he had to do something about Aaron’s betrayal. Paddy jumped in to talk him out of it, before saying: “John, is that you?” But he had already hung up the phone.

Paddy later confided in Liam about his concerns, but Liam interrupted him to warn him he couldn’t share anything with him due to client confidentiality. What will Paddy do?

Tracy and Charity in Emmerdale

Tracy got suspicious about Mack

Tracy also confided in Liam. She was eager to share her suspicions about Owen Michaels, who had confessed to Nate’s murder.

Tracy, rightly, suspected that Owen wasn’t guilty of the crime. “It doesn’t feel right to me, it never did,” she said. But despite Liam’s interest in Murder Con, he didn’t believe there was any conspiracy in this situation.

Later in the shop, she chatted to Charity about their children being without father figures. As Charity spoke about Mack abandoning Moses, the cogs turned in Tracy’s brain.

“Did you say Mack sent you a message, but he didn’t try to talk to you or Moira?” Tracy wanted to confirm.

She later spoke to sister Vanessa about the situation. She pointed out that Mack and Nate’s stories are similar. Vanessa batted her theory away though, and told her not to mention anything to Charity as she has enough on her plate.

Elsewhere in Emmerdale tonight

Charity played Mack’s message to Moira. Moira was suspicious and asked who walks out without their belongings or clothes? Charity retorted that she didn’t “give a stuff about his 3,000 lumberjack shirts”. You love them really, Charity…

Charity later told Moses that Mack isn’t coming back, but reassured him that Mack loves him very much.
