Cain is a man on a mission

Emmerdale aired a dramatic cliffhanger tonight that saw Moira Dingle discover that Cain had been arrested in Dover. But what has happened and has he found John Sugden?

The fallout of John Sugden has still been taking place on Emmerdale. And one character in particular who has been affected by it all is Cain Dingle.

When he realised Caleb helped John escape, he was focussed on getting revenge and tracking John down. So that’s exactly what he set off to do. But tonight’s episode aired an interesting development, and some fans think his mission may have been successful.

Cain has been arrested in Emmerdale

Last week, Emmerdale aired a shock collapse for Moira, which caused fans to fear that her brain tumour had returned. But tonight (October 13) followed it up. And it turns out she just hadn’t been well – and even gave her bug to Isaac.

But it was evident that Moira was struggling to cope at the farm without Cain. And everyone could see this. Including Kyle, who didn’t tell Moira that he had a football match, because he knew how stressed she had been. So, she was devastated to realise she missed him winning man of the match.

This was the final straw, and Moira decided to call Cain and demand that he returns home to his family. But what she didn’t expect was a follow-up call from someone else – informing her Cain had been arrested in Dover.

We are yet to discover what exactly Cain had been arrested for. But Emmerdale spoilers for later this week shows that he hits self-destruct. And now, some fans think maybe he’ll actually be dealing with a guilty conscious.

Emmerdale spoilers reveal Cain hits self destruct

In Emmerdale spoilers for later this week, Cain returns home from his search for John. And when Moira questions him on the search, he avoids answering her. But instead of focussing on helping his family, Cain turns to the bottle.

It’s also the anniversary of Zak’s death, and Cain was supposed to meet up with Belle and Sam at the grave. But instead, it seems Cain is too focussed on his own wallowing and doesn’t go.

But will anyone be able to help Cain before he completely spirals out of control?

Has he actually found John?

With Cain avoiding Moira’s line of questioning, and now being arrested, some Emmerdale viewers can’t help but wonder if he has actually found John.

Taking to Reddit, one fan theorised: “What do we think is the outcome of Cain’s trip? I had assumed he would just come back after unsuccessfully hunting John but now I think there might be more to it than that. There’s no way I believe he has killed John. But maybe he has found something out about his past?”

Another agreed: “Good idea. His past misdeeds, and perhaps can fill in the blanks that we know but the characters don’t eg, Aidan in hospital.”

A third still thinks someone else is going to die, as they don’t believe the exact flash-forward of Cain at a grave has happened yet.

They penned: “I keep thinking about the flash-forwards at the end of last year. I think something is definitely going to happen to do with Cain.”

“Yes, I thought that too. At the time it seemed likely that it was still Nate’s grave. But I am growing more concerned that someone else is going to die” another added.

“Has Cain killed John? Or maybe attacked someone who accidentally stopped him from getting information?” a confused fan asked.

While we don’t know exactly when John will return, there’s no way he won’t be back. And after eagle-eyed viewers spotted a ‘wanted’ poster for him in Coronation Street – many think the final showdown will take place in the crossover episode.
