Kev Townsend is getting out of prison in Emmerdale and moving to the village. But he’s not allowed to live with husband Robert, he’s got to move in with vicar Charles Anderson and his mother, Claudette.

The latest development in the storyline has fans eager for more. They can’t wait for the scenes between Kev and Claudette. And frankly, neither can we!

Kev is being released in Emmerdale

Robert Sugden got the shock of his life yesterday when secret prison husband Kev revealed he is being released. With only six months to live, Kev isn’t a threat to anyone (tell that to Aaron!) and they need the cell space for someone else.

Robert, who is juggling his life with boyfriend Aaron with keeping Kev a secret, had to think quick. He said they should go abroad and see the world once Kev is free. They could travel for, oh about six months, then when Kev died, Robert would return to the village and reunite with Aaron. Sorted.

But sadly for Robert, Kev can’t go anywhere. He’s in an outreach programme and must stay where he has been bailed to. Which just so happens to be vicar Charles Anderson’s house. What are the chances?!

Kev told Robert it was all good because he had time to prepare himself for his release. He’s getting out on Monday!

Robert’s got some serious work to do sorting this mess out, hasn’t he?!

Kev living with Charles and Claudette is brilliant!

The turn of events has certainly hit the mark with fans, with many already anticipating the drama and comedy that’s about to spark.

“[Bleep] this Dippy and Ape storyline – I can’t wait for Kev to move in with Claudette,” said one on social media.

Another added laughing emojis and wrote: “Kev getting out and moving in with Charles! I can’t cope!”

“Moving in with vicar Charles, wtf…” agreed a third, also sharing several laughing emojis.

A fourth raved: “Charles about to be in the middle of so much drama omg!”

Someone else described Kev and Claudette as the “new Billy Hopwood and Edna Birch” – Classic fans will remember they were quite the pairing too!

‘Of all of the vicarages, in all of the world…’

Though there were some who felt it was just a coincidence too far…

“So all of a sudden, out of nowhere, Charles is taking in prisoners, oh my god try to be a bit more realistic writers, give the viewers some credit for having at least one brain cell.”

A second queried: “So. There was nowhere else for Robert’s husband to go to but Charles???”

“Of course, of all the vicarage’s in all the world it’s the Emmerdale vicarage that Kev’s moving into…” Added a third.
