Celia has been a controversial character since her arrival in the Dales earlier this year and recent scenes have well and truly cemented Celia as a villain. With Celia receiving more screen time, her appearance has caused a stir with fans. And they might have a point – why does she have a shepherd’s crook? Celia was outed as the dugs boss (Credit: ITV) Celia exposed in Emmerdale Celia Daniels has been ruffling feathers in Emmerdale since her arrival earlier in the summer. She immediately got on the wrong side of Moira, before poor Paddy became the victim of an attack by her dog. Since then, Moira Dingle and Celia have formed a business partnership. This fact was revealed last week when April got into trouble after Leo took an ecstasy pill that April had accidentally dropped. Ray immediately tried to clear up the mess, but it turns out he couldn’t handle it and had to bring in the big gun – Celia. Celia approached April at the hospital and stopped her telling the police the truth about where the drugs came from. As Celia pretended to care for April’s welfare, fans were shocked when she suddenly switched and slapped April round the face. Celia shared that she was Ray’s boss. It was later revealed that there was even more to their relationship as Ray called Celia ‘Mum’. Celia belittled Ray as she called him useless and pathetic, while ensuring it was clear that she shouldn’t be messed with. Given that her main income comes from a criminal drugs ring, we don’t imagine Celia actually does much farm work. But fans still want to know why she chooses to dress like that. “Celia is now getting like John, pops up round every corner. And has anyone ever seen a farmer dress like that?” asked one fan on Instagram. A second fan asked: “What’s with the Shepherds crook?” “I keep thinking of Little Bo Peep when I see Celia with that stick!” joked a third fan. While a fourth fan said: “Celia wears the same outfit, appropriate for all events: lies, deceit, and slapping young girls in a hospital car park.” A fifth fan added: “Is Celia a farmer or not?
