In the latest episode of Emmerdale, Mack’s fate appeared to be confirmed as killer John Sugden made him his next target.

With John desperate for this information to remain a secret, did he succeed in silencing Mack?

Mack tried to escape John

Mack remained quiet in the van as John gave him a lift. John chatted about how he is glad to be getting out of the Dales, but said he knows Mack sees him as a bad guy for taking his best mate away.

Mack later claimed he was being quiet because he had a headache. John called him a bad liar before asking: “By now, I’m guessing you’ve joined up the dots?”

Mack tried to pretend he didn’t know anything, before it became clear that he knew too much. The two men had a tussle outside of the van, before Mack took the chance to run away – and he headed straight into the woods.

As Mack stumbled and rolled down a hill, John was in hot pursuit with a bow and arrow no less.

What happened to Mack?

Mack hid from John, but his phone ringing alerted John to his location. As Mack tried to run, John shot him in the back with an arrow.

Mack begged for his life, but John told him his lungs were filling with blood and urged Mack not to talk as it would make his injury worse.

John told Mack that he couldn’t trust him to keep quiet about this latest development as Aaron was his best friend, therefore killing him was the only option.

John lifted up a large rock and went to bring it down on Mack. A flashback later showed John fully bringing the rock down.

John then headed back to the Woolpack where he and Aaron were having leaving drinks before saying their goodbyes to their friends and family.

The episode ended with John wiping dripping blood from his van as the camera panned in on what looked like a body covered with a blanket in the back of the van. Is Mack dead?
