And although most fans loved it, others felt Emmerdale needed to push it even further! “My son walked in halfway through this episode (he doesn’t normally watch) and said ‘you watching a horror?’ He sat down and was hooked. The way it was all shot was amazing. The music, the atmosphere. Very different and refreshing,” shared one on social media. Someone else added: “Another brilliant episode. Well done Emmerdale. Love the music, the suspense and cinematography. Just like watching a mini movie. Half an hour is just too short.” Others wanted even more and had a suggestion for the soap: “You should just go full thriller/horror at this point and do it after watershed cos these scenes and actors are sooo good!!!!” pleaded one. “You might as well chuck this whole episode/whatever’s left of this storyline on after the watershed! That ending was giving off Inception vibes! I don’t know if I was watching Emmerdale or Vera…or even Midsomer Murders,” agreed someone else. A third said: “The acting’s great, the storyline’s great but it’s not Emmerdale. It’s not sit down with the kids family entertainment. It’s a 9pm storyline really. ” What do you think? Should Emmerdale now go all-out and air a later episode so it can get really juicy? Read more: Who’s leaving Emmerdale?
