Emmerdale Tonight Share By Carena Crawford Sep 9 2025 By Carena Crawford Sep 9 2025 Soap viewers are definitely not ones to keep quiet when they’re unhappy – and that goes for Emmerdale viewers in particular at the moment as they aired their fury over ITV’s latest scheduling decision. Fans are rarely happy when their favourite soap gets taken off from its usual slot, but even more so when it doesn’t air at all. And that is doubly frustrating when the previous episode was left on such a cliffhanger! So take note, ITV, Emmerdale fans are cross. And that’s an understatment! Robert can’t believe Emmerdale isn’t on tonight either (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale will not air tonight Because of – yep, you guessed it – football, Emmerdale is not on ITV at 7.30pm tonight (Tuesday September 9). As well as that, it’s not been released early on ITVX or YouTueb, so there is no way to get your Emmerdale fix today. Instead, ITV will show England football from 7pm. The Lions are taking on Serbia in a Euro’s qualifying match. Kick-off will be at 7.45pm, hence no Emmerdale. Quite often Emmerdale will be moved to an earlier time to accomodate football. However this is not the case tonight. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers It’s not looking good for Aaron but we won’t know more until Wednesday (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale fans hit out at ITV over its latest scheduling decision The move has more than angered viewers – especially as Monday left us in suspense over the fate of Aaron Dingle and John Sugden after their clifftop plunge. We now have to wait until Wednesday (September 10) to get answers over whether or not they die. “Can’t believe it’s not on tomorrow, bloody football. So ITV owes us 30mins,” demanded one on social media. Another desperately begged: “Is this a wind up?! Please tell me it is!!” But someone else confirmed: “Knowing we have to wait till Wednesday is painful.” “Leave it on cliffhanger literally. Why it’s not put on ITVX, I don’t understand,” raged one more. Another said: “Absolutely disgusting putting the rubbish football on. It’s depressing when Emmerdale is not on.” A sixth angrily shared: “We don’t want SPORT sick of it and fed up of [bleep] TV.” “I’m not a happy viewer,” added a seventh. “Why take Emmerdale off. Kick off isn’t till 7.45. Emmerdale is only on for 30 mins. Can’t they please everyone?” The police believe Robert pushed Aaron and John (Credit: ITV) What happens when the soap returns? Emmerdale is staying silent on whether Aaron and John survive – though fans have made it very clear how they feel about the prospect Aaron might not make it. What we do know is John’s plan to frame Robert works as he is then carted away to be questioned by the cops. After John made the call saying Robert was threatening them, no one believes Robert’s version of events – which means Aaron definitely can’t be awake (or alive) to confirm it.
