Charity Dingle Chas Dingle Share By Carena Crawford Oct 8 2025 By Carena Crawford Oct 8 2025 Charity Dingle is trying desperately to sort out the baby mess she’s got into in Emmerdale, but confiding in Chas Dingle might not have been her smartest move. Last night (Tuesday October 7) Charity opened up to Chas and told her she was planning an abortion. But Chas was dead against the idea and the pair argued. They then argued some more when Charity told her cousin about her new plan. But while all this was going on, fans had one big question: just where was Mackenzie? So why does that matter? Here’s what sparked that ‘major plot hole’… Charity has some serious explaining to do (Credit: ITV) Charity reveals her plans to Chas in Emmerdale Desperate Charity had gone to have an abortion after finding out Ross was the father of her baby. Not only would it mean the end of her marriage when Mack found out she’d cheated and got pregnant by someone else, but it would also fracture her relationship with granddaughter Sarah forever. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Charity is supposed to be a surrogate for Sarah and Jacob. As far as they – and everyone else – is concerned the baby Charity is carrying is theirs. Only Charity – and now Chas – know that it’s not. Chas is firmly in the ‘tell the truth’ camp. She has insisted Charity only has the one option. Charity decided the other option was to terminate the pregnancy. Chas was against this and was relived when Charity later revealed she couldn’t go through with it. Chas once again told her to tell the truth, but emotional Charity said she was just going to pretend the baby was Sarah’s and carry on as normal. Unimpressed Chas listed all the reasons it would not work out and was not a good idea. Things descended into a heated row and yelling Charity insisted although she didn’t have all the answers, but that this was her only option and she would make it work. Chas was furious with her (Credit: ITV) Fans call out plot hole While all this was going on downstairs, fans wondered where on earth Charity’s husband Mackenzie Boyd was. Last week a big deal was made out of the fact he has not left the house since his kidnapping ordeal at the hands of John Sugden. He is clearly too afraid to go out and is really struggling. So where was he? Was he upstairs with a case of selective deafness? Or has Emmerdale just forgotten all about that plot point in order to facilitate this new one?! “Mack hasn’t left the house since he came out of hospital. How has he not heard that conversation between Chas and Charity?” asked on fan on social media. Another one added: “Mack afraid to leave the house clearly is deaf. Another heated conversation between Charity and Chas hot on the heels of yesterday’s between Charity and Ross. Maybe the house is sound proofed?” “Where was Mackenzie when this conversation was happening? I thought he wasn’t ready to leave the house the other day, so he has either got over that or he is great at keeping extremely quiet upstairs whilst listening to them both,” shared one more. A fourth said: “Thought Mack didn’t want to go out the house so where was he when Charity was screaming like a banshee!!!! Upstairs hopefully!” So does this mean Mack knows the truth?
