Emmerdale ITVX early release airs proposal for Kev and Robert - and fans are not happy about it

*Warning, this article contains Emmerdale spoilers regarding Robert and Kev’s relationship from tonight’s episode (November 3). The episode has not yet aired on TV but is available to watch on ITVX and YouTube.

Emmerdale fans have been left unamused as Robert Sugden was surprised with a vow renewal proposal from his recently-released from prison husband Kev.

However, the scenes left many fans unhappy with the storyline and worried about how Aaron Dingle will cope with the news. And knowing that at some point, Robert will be centre-stage in a prison flashback episode, fans are hoping things will start changing.

Kev proposes to Robert in Emmerdale

Robert was shocked tonight when Aaron told him that Kev has once again threatened him. And when he tried to bring it up to Kev, he very quickly dismissed the whole thing.

But in the Woolpack (perfect place, Kev), he surprised Robert by admitting he has been planning something top secret.

Having already spoken to Charles, Kev revealed all he wants is to have a vow renewal with Robert before he dies now that he is out and proud – something he never thought he would be.

But Robert was clearly shocked – and didn’t even seem too happy about the whole idea. However, of course, he said yes. And Kev shocked everyone even more by revealing he has it sorted for two days time.

While Aaron thankfully wasn’t in the pub to watch, Mack, Ryan and Chas saw the whole thing. And none of them were happy about it.

And it’s safe to say viewers felt the exact same.

Viewers are not happy with the storyline

While many are trying to give Kev the benefit of the doubt and try to enjoy his character, it’s proving more difficult.

The relationship of Robron have a very strong fanbase. And as soon as it was revealed Ryan Hawley was reprising his role earlier this year, all fans wanted was for Robert and Aaron to reunite.

But just as soon as they got rid of the John Sugden issue, Kev rocked up, threatening their relationship yet again.

Now, taking to social media after watching the early release, a lot of fans aren’t too happy. And many believe Robert’s reaction was proof of where his heart lies.

One wrote: “Robert got proposed to and said yeah sure why not as if he’s been asked out for lunch. He is so funny.”

Another added: “The fact that Kev booked it without telling Robert beforehand must be because he knew Robert wouldn’t be able to say no. Especially with all the pressure he feels to please him.”

“Oh Robert seems so delighted about the vow renewal” a third fan joked.

“I’m sorry but Robert babe, you sounded like you just agreed to go out for drinks or something. Not to renew your wedding vows…” a fourth wrote.

Another penned: “Okay but this whole thing has to lead to Robert’s flashback episode. Then hopefully there will be a turning point for Robron.”
