Which is a big shock for his secret husband Robert Sugden. And an even bigger shock for Robert’s newly rekindled lover, Aaron, who spots Kev planting a smacker on Robert. What on earth is going to happen now?! We caught up with Ryan Hawley, who plays Robert, and Chris Coghill, who plays Kev, to find out what’s in store. Kev and Robert know each other from prison (Credit: ITV) Is Kev a baddie? With Robron finally back together, is Ryan pleased to have this latest Kev-shaped obstacle thrown in their path? article continues below Read all the latest spoilers “I am,” he tells us. “Kev is a really big obstacle in the sense that he’s a very loveable, damaged character. He’s a broken character but you feel sorry for him as well. And he’s funny.” But of course we’ve seen glimpses of another side to Kev – a more sinister side! “Kev is a really complex character and there’s so much to him,” adds Ryan. “He’s not just some baddie. He’s not even a baddie…” Not surprisingly, Chris is quick to agree! “He’s a criminal and he’s got psychopathic tendencies but he’s got a lot of redeeming qualities,” he tells us. “But yeah, he’s volatile.” Kev can be volatile, says Chris Coghill (Credit: ITV) Could Robert be in danger? So could Robert be in danger, when Kev finds out about Aaron? Chris says not. “He’s incredibly dangerous,” he reveals. “But there’s a weird thing where he’d never actually hurt Robert.” Which is good news for Robert. But what about Aaron? Could he be in danger? “I know Kev wouldn’t have any qualms about physically attacking anybody, apart from Robert,” Chris says. Hmm, intriguing! We reckon Aaron should watch his back then… Aaron declared his feelings for Robert but he’s not mentioned he’s married to someone else! (Credit: ITV) Are there genuine feelings between Robert and Kev? And what about the romance side of things? Robert now seems stuck between two former husbands! Though when Kev first arrived, Robert wasn’t massively keen to see him, Ryan says he does have genuine feelings for his prison husband. “He loves him,” he says. “It’s a complicated relationship but they both love each other. But then you have to wonder to what degree does Robert love Kev and what degree does he love Aaron?” Chris agrees. “It’s very complicated because Kev is unhinged,” he points out. “There are some genuine feelings there, but they’re not quite what they should be.” Of course, Robert’s not the only one with a dangerous ex lurking in the background. How does Kev compare to Aaron’s killer husband – and Robert’s half-brother – John? “Kev is something very different and volatile,” says Ryan. “He’s dangerous, but not in a calculated way, like John, but in a kind of, unhinged way.” Aaron sees Kev and Robert kissing (Credit: ITV) Secret kisses So what we can be sure of is that when Aaron spots Kev and Robert kissing, it’s going to be dramatic. “Of course, it’s going to be explosive,” teases Ryan. “Aaron thinks that he and Robert are on the path now that they were always intended to be on. He thinks that all the drama’s behind them, there’s no John anymore. They can carry on with their lives.” But of course this is soap so nothing is that straightforward. “Out of nowhere, there’s this guy that turns up and he’s Robert’s old cellmate and then next thing Aaron sees them kissing around the back of the Woolpack. So he’s been lied to, after everything else that’s happened, where Robert’s half-brother has also lied to him. It’s a lot for Aaron to take in!” Does that mean our hopes for a Robron reunion are about to be dashed? Chris has got some bad news for Robron fans. “Kev’s a massive spanner in the works,” he tells us. “A massive, unhinged spanner.” Read more: Who’s leaving Emmerdale?
