It was thought Mackenzie Boyd had already died at the hands of John, but it turns out he was being kept alive in an underground bunker. Mack managed to get out of the bunker, but with John chasing him down with an axe, here are the clues that he really will die this time. Lawrence Robb speaks out Appearing on Lorraine earlier this week, actor Lawrence Robb, who has played Mack for 5 years, said Mack isn’t safe just yet. Given that Thursday’s episode ended with Mack lying at the side of the road, while John approached him with an axe, he may have a point. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Lawrence said: “There is a lot more drama still to come. He is not out of the woods. But I am looking forward to seeing how it all plays out on screen. Filming the scenes with Ollie was amazing. But it was a long time spent in that bunker!” Sources said John won’t escape Mack (Credit: ITV) 2. Reports Mack will die in Emmerdale Earlier in the summer, The Sun reported that Mack would meet his maker. An insider told the publication: “The scenes are going to be really harrowing for fans to watch. Mackenzie has been in so many scrapes and dangerous positions, but this time it looks like he’s bitten off more than he can chew.” While some fans hoped and assumed that the reports had been wrong, perhaps Emmerdale is just prolonging the agony, as The Sun also said: “There are huge twists and turns coming throughout this storyline, and it’s going to run for months and months.” Mack knows all of John’s secrets (Credit: ITV) 3. Keeping Mack alive is dangerous for John With it being clear that Mack is not on John’s side, it makes no sense for John to keep Mack alive. An alive Mack only spells danger for John. If Mack is freed, there is just no chance of him remaining quiet over what John has put him through – and this would result in the immediate end to John’s relationship with Aaron, as well as jail time for his numerous crimes. Mack has shown he can escape the bunker, so why would John want to risk sticking him in there again? John will surely feel he has no choice but to kill Mack. Will John be axed by an axe? (Credit: ITV) 4. Mack is running out of lives in Emmerdale The number of near death experiences Mack has had is getting ridiculous now. We’ve seen Mack survive a terrifying car accident, which saw the vehicle hanging over the edge of a cliff. He was then held hostage by a gangster and stabbed by Charity. And we haven’t even mentioned him almost being mauled by a bull. More recently, it looked like his time was up when John shot him with a crossbow and then seemingly brought a rock down on his head. Surely he’s used up his nine lives now and can’t possibly survive an unstable John wielding an axe?
