Emmerdale fans were divided when reports surfaced saying that Mack was set to die. Then Emmerdale appeared to confirm the dramatic scenes in a huge trailer.

But now, fans don’t think that’s actually going to happen. For months, Emmerdale fans have wondered if Mack is coming to an end. And while he has managed to escape death a few times, it looks like it may be a bit more difficult this time.

Whenever John Sugden arrived Mack was one of the first people to notice that he was hiding things. He was never a huge fan and over time that has continued. But recently, Mack’s suspicions have died down – but he’s about to make a discovery which changes that.

Mack makes a discovery

This week Mack makes a huge discovery about John which ultimately puts him in extreme danger. While we don’t know exactly what he has found out, it’s got to be linked to one of John’s many crimes.

But Emmerdale released a trailer which looked quite sinister. And some fans even believed it showed the moment John ‘murders’ Mack.

In the trailer, Mack can be seen injured, while John stands above him with a very large rock. And just as the trailer ends, it looks like he was dropping it on top of him.

However, due to the release of the trailer, and the chatter, some Emmerdale fans actually think Mack won’t die.

John to hold Mack hostage, Emmerdale fans believe

Instead of murdering Mack, Emmerdale fans believe John may actually take him hostage and hold him somewhere away from the village for a few months.

Taking to a Reddit thread, fans discussed what they think the fate of Mack will actually be.

One predicted: “I think he will be held hostage by John for a month or so.”

Another agreed: “Yeah I think so too. It will be suggested that he’s dead, but not confirmed. Then a few weeks later it will be ‘oh he’s being kept alive’. But then a little while after that he will die.”

A third pointed out that if John does keep Mack alive, it could follow a similar plot as Oliver Farnworth’s own Corrie exit – when his character Andy was held hostage by Pat Phelan and then murdered.

“I think the trailer is a fake out. We will think he’s died but then it will come out that John’s keeping him somewhere” another penned.

Whether Mack lives to tell the tale remains to be seen. But right now, things aren’t looking good…
