Emmerdale fans predict John twist as they spot similarities in Oliver Farnworth’s Corrie kidnap plot

Some Emmerdale fans are only realising the similarities between the John plot and Oliver Farnworth’s storyline in Coronation Street. And now they fear it will have the same outcome – and that Mack will kill for John.

Back in 2017, Oliver was involved in an extremely similar storyline in Coronation Street. The only difference is that he was on the receiving end of the torture. The storyline took many twists and turns, and played out over quite a lot of months.

But ultimately, Oliver’s character, Andy, was brutally murdered by Pat Phelan, despite going to extreme lengths to prove he would keep his secrets. And Emmerdale fans fear that Mackenzie Boyd will follow that same route.

Andy was targeted by Pay Phelan after he tried to expose his secrets. But after being led to believe Phelan had murdered him, we discovered he was being held in a secret location.

But over time, Phelan had Andy commit murder for him, telling him that if he did then he would be freed. Andy, desperate to get out, did just that. He murdered an old business partner of Phelan’s by shooting him.

However, in a devastating and cruel twist, Phelan turned the gun on Andy and shot him dead – after he spent months begging for his life.

Now, after it was revealed he was alive, Emmerdale fans are terrified that Mackenzie will not only suffer the same fate – but also kill someone.

Emmerdale fans fear Mack will kill for John

Pointing out the similarities on Reddit and X, one social media user wrote: “The scene when John was chasing Mack through the woods really reminded me of when Phelan was chasing Andy. Also he held Andy captive in a dark room.”

A fan commented: “But Phelan made Andy kill someone, so what if Mackenzie kills for John?”

Another fan added: “If this is the case, I wouldn’t be surprised if John asks Mack to kill Aaron for him because that’s what Phelan did with Andy.”

“I really hope they don’t drag this out as long as Coronation Street did. And Mack better not die” a fourth penned.
