Emmerdale fans 'work out' romance for Ray and Laurel

Emmerdale fans are convinced Ray will be sticking around. And in this soap, if you’re staying then you’ll be linked up with someone romantically very quickly.

Joe Absolom who plays Ray joined Emmerdale quite recently when Mackenzie Boyd got in touch with him regarding Lewis Barton’s drugs. However, he ended up doing business with Robert instead, and he and Mack literally haven’t spoken since.

Now, he’s so obsessed with having April and Dylan work for him that they’re the only people he’s even paying attention to. But Emmerdale fans have been wondering who he’ll eventually get with – and it’s someone quite close to April.

So far Ray has been successful in tricking vulnerable Dylan into believing he is there for him. However, in reality he is manipulating the teen into working for him.

Now his attention is on April since he realised that Dylan was interested in her romantically. And tonight (August 15) Emmerdale spoilers show April sets off to do her drug drop-off for Ray.

April leaves her family home after Ray invites her to move in with him

While she and Dylan are adamant they won’t be doing anymore, and confidently believe that Ray will just accept that, we don’t think that’s entirely likely.

And now Emmerdale fans think Ray may insert himself even more into April’s life by striking an unlikely romance with Laurel Thomas – April’s former step-mum.

Laurel and Ray headed for shock relationship?

As of right now, Laurel and Ray don’t even know each other. But Laurel hasn’t actually been on our screens properly in a while.

It’s been ages since she had a good storyline – and she is a long-time iconic character. So while some Emmerdale fans admitted they wouldn’t mind saying goodbye to her, some others have been demanding a huge storyline for her.

This has led fans to believe she will play a central role in the storyline. And some have even feared that Ray may also target her son Arthur when he realises how close the families are.

Taking to social media one fan wrote: “Joe Absolom said Ray has charm so I’m sure he’s going to end up with someone. And Laurel is the top of my list.”

Another added: “I kinda think I would like Laurel and Ray? Unless he goes full villain…”

While a third echoed: “I’m rooting for her and Ray now.”

It would sure be chaos when everything eventually inevitably gets revealed. But will Laurel find herself in the middle of it all?
