Mack Boyd in Emmerdale has had a rubbish few weeks having spent them locked in John Sugden’s underground bunker fighting for his life in more ways than one. Last night (Thursday September 4) he made an escape attempt, but was thwarted by John carrying an axe. And the early release episode on ITVX has left Mack’s fate hanging. But we do know Aaron is in serious danger. Mack tried to flee (Credit: ITV) Mack made an escape attempt in Emmerdale Thursday’s Emmerdale saw all the drama and more as Mackenzie pocketed a pen knife that John had accidentally dropped and begin his escape. John was preoccupied with thoughts of Aaron sleeping with Robert. He had decided to drug his husband to keep him under his control – and away from Robert. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers As John prepared the whiskey in front of Mack, Mack knew he had to get out and rescue his best friend. Once John had left, the chained up Scot managed to get free. Despite being shot through the shoulder with an arrow, having his ankle smashed with a rock and having been chained up for 13 days with no light or exercise, Mack managed to limp his way out of the bunker. Back at the cottage, John was alerted to Mack’s escape by his handily placed camera in the woods. He raced off to capture him. But spaced out Aaron soon followed. What ensued was a masterpiece of film-like television as Aaron shouted out for John and Mack shouted for Aaron all while in a hazed, dream-like state. Although John caught Mack, Aaron began having a seizure and he was faced with a choice: save his husband or keep his secrets. He chose the former, but not before knocking Mack out with a rock. Mack feared for his life as John headed towards him with an axe (Credit: ITV) John gets Mack – again in Emmerdale Mackenzie regained consciousness and managed once again to stumble off. He made it to a road before collapsing and hailing down a driver. But whaddya know? It was only John driving the vehicle. What are the chances?! As John stepped out with an axe, he assured Mack Aaron was just fine as he menacingly walked towards him. And then the credits rolled. Aaron is in big trouble, but can he find a way out? (Credit: ITV) ITVX episode doesn’t reveal whether Mack is dead in Emmerdale Surely after that, Mackenzie has got to be dead? Well, we still don’t know because he does not appear in Friday’s episode at all! But what we do know is Aaron is in serious, and we mean serious, danger. Because John confronted him over sleeping with Robert and continued to drug him. As John’s behaviour gets more erratic tonight, Aaron makes a shocking discovery – but what has he found? And is it connected to missing Mack? Meanwhile, Paddy also has a realisation – about time! – that he’s been speaking to John on the helpline.
