And it appears she wasn’t to thrilled to be leaving. Last October we waved goodbye to Amelia Spencer after 13 years. And at the time, Daisy Campbell revealed it wasn’t her personal choice to leave the show. Having played the long-standing character from eight-years-old, at 21, she was given the axe. But now, she has taken on a new career venture by opening her very own pilates studio. And has found herself thinking about all the things she missed by joining Emmerdale at a young age. And how devastated she was to be given the boot. Daisy was gutted to be leaving (Credit: YouTube) Daisy Campbell hits out after Emmerdale exit Opening up about her shock exit from Emmerdale, Daisy Campbell admitted it was “so out of the blue” and felt like her career had been “ripped away” from her. She told The Sun: “It was at the beginning of the year, things were quiet. Obviously, we had the new producer come in. And then when it came to contracts, nothing came through. So I was like ‘oh’ and then obviously it happened.” article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Daisy explained she was “upset” because she really “loved the job”. The young actress remembers “selfishly” wondering “why is this happening” to her. As for what it was like to be in such a huge show at such a young age, Daisy admitted that while she loved it, she felt like she had missed out on a lot of other things. She said: “I feel like I did miss out a lot during my childhood, with friends and stuff. I used to want to stay at school with my friends rather than be on set. But I wouldn’t change it, I was in such a privileged position.” The star admitted she “never wanted to leave Emmerdale” because it was “the most stable job” she could have had in the industry. But unfortunately, her time in the soap came to an end. Amelia left the village last year (Credit: YouTube / ITV) Where did Amelia Spencer go? Amelia left the village in October 2024, after she realised what Tom King was really like. Amelia had been in a relationship with the abuser, as he tried to manipulate her into believing his lies. But when the truth all came out, even Amelia couldn’t deny what was right in front of her. Instead of rebuilding her life in the village, Amelia called Daz Spencer, her biological dad, to come and collect her and her daughter Esther, as they were moving to Leicester with him. Everyone – particularly Kerry, Lydia and Sam – was distraught at Amelia’s exit, but ultimately they knew it was what she had to do. However, the door for a return was left open. So, there is always a chance Daisy Campbell might pop up in the Emmerdale village sometime in the future.
