With Vinny Dingle harbouring doubts over his sexuality and Mike’s threat hanging over him, it was touch and go over whether Vinny would turn up for the wedding. But fans were delighted when Vinny burst in at the last minute and he and Gabby got married. Vinny has been lying to Gabby (Credit: ITV) Vinny’s sexuality secret Earlier this year, Vinny became close to newcomer Kammy Hadiq. The pair’s bond led to Vinny doubting his sexuality and he tried to kiss Kammy. Kammy rejected Vinny’s advances, but that didn’t stop Vinny from feeling confused. Vinny soon turned to a support line and met a guy called Mike. Vinny confided in Mike, believing that they were going through the same thing. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers However, it turned out that Mike was a con artist. He listened to guys pour their heart out about their confusion over their sexuality and then blackmailed them with the information. Mike beat Vinny up before demanding he transfer £10,000 or he’d play a recording of their chats to Gabby. He also stole Vinny and Gabby’s wedding rings, leading Vinny to lie to Gabby that he’d misplaced them and had to buy cheaper replacements. Vinny finally confided in Kammy about what he had been going through, but Kammy inadvertently made the situation worse and Mike demanded more money or he’d ruin the big day. Vinny eventually did what he should have done in the first place and reported Mike to the police, determined to give Gabby the wedding day she wanted. Fortunately, Vinny arrived in the nick of time and explained his absence by producing a locket for Gabby, which had inside it a picture of her late father. Vinny claimed he was late due to having to pick it up. The wedding then went ahead, making Vinny and Gabby husband and wife – and fans couldn’t be more thrilled. In an exclusive poll for Emmerdale Insider, 54% of those surveyed said they wanted Gabby and Vinny to get married, believing they will make each other happy.
