For the last year, John Sugden has fooled (almost) everybody in the village into believing his Good Samaritan act, but the truth has finally been revealed to all. John has legged it and has so far avoided capture, but fans insist he must be caught! He drugged Chas, attacked Liam, caused Jacob to have an allergic reaction, caused the slurry leak which put Harry in hospital and, most shockingly of all, he killed Nate Robinson. It was also revealed that John was responsible for Aidan Moore being in hospital. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Most recently, John kept Mack locked up in a bunker and drugged husband Aaron as a way of keeping control. But the house of cards has now come falling down. After Robert Sugden confronted his half-brother last week, John threw himself and Aaron into a gorge. While Aaron’s injuries were severe, he has now woken up. Aaron’s first words were about John keeping Mack somewhere. As the penny dropped for Chas and Victoria that they had been wrong, John made his escape. Cain, who was unaware of what had happened, gave John a lift back to the cottage and he currently remains at large while the police search for him. In an exclusive poll for Emmerdale Insider, 54% of those surveyed want John to be punished for what he did and insist that he be put in jail. Amusingly, 20% of fans said they think John should be served up to the Dingles and that they should be allowed to deal with him. Only 16% want John to die. “We need to get John arrested NOW!” wrote one viewer on X. While another said: “I think we’re all in agreement that John needs to be caught asap!
