The early morning release of Thursday’s episode of Emmerdale on ITVX and YouTube has confirmed a death in the John Sugden saga. It’s long been suggested that John was keeping other hostages that he’d tried to save or knew his secrets. But now we know at least one of those theories isn’t correct. Caleb helped John escape (Credit: ITV) John Sugden escaped in Emmerdale Last night (Wednesday September 24) Caleb Miligan helped John escape the country after his crimes caught up with him. Viewers know John was responsible for putting his ex, Aidan Moore, in a coma, killing Nate Robinson (accidentally), framing Owen Michaels for Nate’s death; drugging Chas and framing Ella, forcing an allergic reaction in Jacob, whacking Mack over the head with a shovel, holding Mack hostage, drugging Aaron, pulling him over a gorge and framing Robert for it all. But as he was finally caught out over his crimes and lies, he decided to do a runner. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers At first Caleb had double-crossed John and driven him to meet a gun-wielding Cain. But John played his trump card and said he’d scheduled an email incriminating them all for Anthony’s murder. He promised to delete it when Caleb got him to Rotterdam. Cain wasn’t interested in the deal. But Caleb knocked his brother out, determined to protect his wife. John was then last seen in the back of Caleb’s lorry at the port. He handed Caleb the coordinates of Anthony’s body and then deleted the email before he went. Ruby’s dead is definitely dead (Credit: ITV) A death is confirmed in Emmerdale on ITVX In Thursday’s episode, that is now available on ITVX and YouTube, Caleb told Ruby what he’d done. But they were concerned they had no proof Anthony was actually buried where John said he was. So Caleb decided to dig him up. And he then relayed to the Anthony murder club that it was definitely Anthony’s body and he has now dealt with it for good. The discovery confirms that Anthony did indeed die. Many fans had been sure hints were being dropped that Anthony wasn’t actually dead and John had saved his life and was keeping him captive somewhere. But now his death is certain. Caleb helped John go on the run (Credit: ITV) And what about John? We don’t know much about John now. Caleb confirmed he had dropped him off at the first service station in Rotterdam. He said he was planning to head to France after that. Cain immediately stomped off to pack a back and head abroad to find him. Moira followed desperately trying to stop him.
