Things weren’t looking good for Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale on Thursday night (September 11) when his husband John Sugden surveyed him in a coma and said it was better if he didn’t wake up. That was the last thing we saw and we tuned in today hoping to find out whether Aaron was alive or dead. Here’s what we’ve found out… Aaron was pulled over a cliff by John (Credit: ITV) Aaron and John in clifftop plunge It’s been a high drama week as Aaron saw the scales fall from his eyes as he realised his husband is a bad guy. He knew John had Mack imprisoned somewhere and was drugging him so he couldn’t go anywhere. But managing to avoid the drugged water, Aaron escaped from the cottage and ran into the woods frantically searching for Mackenzie. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers After fighting with Robert, who had also worked things out and come to save Aaron, John chased Aaron down. He cornered him at the edge of a gorge and fed him a half-hearted cover story. But even Aaron, who has been pretty dim about this for weeks, knew John was lying. Eventually John confessed everything. But when Robert then showed up again, John called the police, framed Rob for an attack, before pulling Aaron over the gorge with him. They both landed unconscious and seriously injured. It was Aaron who has suffered the worst of it. He was rushed in for surgery and is now in an induced coma, unable to breathe on his own. Meanwhile, John has woken up and made a somewhat miraculous recovery (of course he has!) The blame has been placed firmly on Robert, who has been arrested and charged with attempted murder. John is sticking to the story that Robert is behind all of this John is planning to kill Aaron (Credit: ITV) Emmerdale airs shock John Sugden twist as Aaron feared dead Of course the only other person who can refute his claims is Aaron, who remains unconscious. No one believes Robert and they all think John is the innocent victim. However, if Aaron were to wake up that would change everything for John. Last night he visited his husband and told him he loved him and he wasn’t a bad person. He seems to believe this is not his fault. John said he could have forgiven Aaron, but he just had to forget about Mack so they could start again. He then blamed Aaron for ruining everything because he wouldn’t. “I still love you, in spite of everything, but I think it’s for the best if you never wake up,” John said. John didn’t die either but wants to kill Aaron (Credit: ITV) So is Aaron dead in Emmerdale spoilers? In the early release from ITVX is was confirmed that Aaron is still alive. Although we do not see Aaron or John at all in the episode, Cain Dingle reveals there is “no change” in Aaron’s condition. So that means John has not acted on is threat. Is he biding his time? Is Aaron still in danger? Or could John just not go through with it after all? And what does that mean for John’s future? Can he keep up these lies much longer? Paddy feels guilty for not being there more for Aaron (Credit: ITV) Fans rage Those who have already watched the episode on ITVX are not happy at all. Mainly because the episode was such a let down and we didn’t see Aaron and John at all. “So that was the worst episode yet,” said one on social media. “It felt pointless and just repetitive of the same [bleep] we’ve already heard everyone saying. This storyline has dragged on longer than necessary at this point already so we don’t need these lazy filler episodes.” Another was also angry the plot did not move forward: “Nothing, literally NOTHING happened plotwise during the entire Robron-related scenes except Moira ending the work with Vic. It was just repetitive crap to push a narrative that has been pushed since May. How tiring.” “So the reason we got no spoilers for anything Robert and Aaron related wasn’t bcecause they were being clever, it was because there’s nothing with them for the rest of the week. Insane,” shared one more. A fourther added: “Was a bit of a let down episode and anticlimactic after the week we’ve had,” and a fifth wrote: “Well that was disappointing for a Friday episode.” Read more: Who’s leaving Emmerdale?
