(Credit: ITV) Robert visits prison husband Kev in Emmerdale Just as Robert and Aaron Dingle edged closer to a reunion once John Sugden was out of the picture (for now), a surprise visit from Kev threatened everything. It was revealed Kev and Robert had been close in prison. Very close. So close, in fact, they got married. Kev had been Robert’s protection from the beatings and the awful treatment. Robert insists he has a lot of love for Kev, but fans are convinced he married him to keep himself safe. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Whatever their reaasons for getting hitched, Kev is now firmly committed to a life with Robert. That was something Robert thought he could offer, given Kev only has six months to live and is set to be banged up for all of them. A weekly visit and some loving words were all Rob thought he would have to do… Meanwhile, he grew closer and closer to Aaron and they finally agreed to get back together – although are keeping it on the downlow for now. Fans were not overly happy with the reunion. Despite the fact it’s all they’ve wanted since Robert returned, they felt it was too soon and would all end in tears. It now looks like they weren’t wrong… Kev’s news leaves Robert stunned (Credit: ITV) Kev’s bombshell in Emmerdale on ITVX When Robert goes to see Kev on Thursday Kev has some news that sends him spiralling. With great excitement Kev tells Robert he is being released. Uh oh… Robert’s face is a picture as he tries to appear happy and excited. But inside he’s clearly filled with dread. How will he lead this double life now? Kev is not allowed to live with Robert though, he has to stay with Claudette and Charles. So he’ll be close, but not too close. He meets Claudette and Charles and then in the cafe he sees Aaron. Robert is horrified and desperately tries to downplay his past with Kev to Aaron. Robert then keeps them apart as much as he can. He is blindsided when Aaron tells the whole Woolpack they are back together. Victoria meanwhile presses her brother to be honest. Robert resolves to end things with Kev. But when Kev gifts him a expensive watch and kisses him in public, it’s too late because Aaron has seen everything. How will Robert get out of this one? Is that the end of Robron for good?
