It soon transpires that Carl had sent an indecent image of underage Clemmie, and a furious Lucas hit him in anger over his actions. As Dawn, Joe, Billy, Kim, Nicola and Jimmy are all left reeling from the shocking turn of events, Carl is interviewed by the police, adding to the growing rift between the two families. With Carl facing an investigation, Dawn is struggles to comprehend why her daughter would do such a thing. Clemmie later tells Dawn why she sent the photo to Carl, leaving her mum feeling guilty. Dawn then tries to resolve this calmly with Nicola. Unsurprisingly, this does not go to plan, and the battle lines are soon drawn…. The police arrive at Home Farm (Credit: ITV) Fans call for Joe Tate to be ‘fixed’ in Emmerdale Amid all of Joe’s drama with the Tate family, fans reckon it is time writers did some damage control on his character. During a lengthy discussion about the village schemer on Reddit, one viewer suggested the show should explore his backstory. One viewer shared: “He’s very dull: There’s nothing to him. He’s just evil for evil’s sake, mixed with stupid.” Another added: “I find him annoying and very one dimensional. He’s empty to me. He just seems spoilt and nothing more or less. Feel no depth at all with the character.” “It may be possible that good writing could turn him around”, a third wrote. “Maybe doing some sort of backstory flashback thing to explain why he’s such a shit.
