ITV/Comp Emmerdale Insider Share By Carena Crawford Aug 27 2025 By Carena Crawford Aug 27 2025 John, Vinny and Ray plots are boring fans to tears, but Moira and Celia's partnership might just save Emmerdale - OPINION Finally two women working together as Celia and Moira join forces Celia Daniels Features Moira Dingle Share By Carena Crawford Aug 27 2025 By Carena Crawford Aug 27 2025 Moira Dingle and Celia Daniels have joined forces against Joe Tate in Emmerdale and frankly, it’s just what the soap needs. Bravo! On Wednesday August 27, the pair decided to tell Joe they weren’t afraid of him any more. And he looked quite rattled by it. Despite vowing he would get the better of them, something tells us he won’t be all-that successful. Celia was working against Moira (Credit: ITV) Celia and Moira join forces in Emmerdale It’s fair to say we were warned. In the press release announcing Celia’s arrival in the Dales, we were told she had a reputation. And then we witnessed it first hand in her reaction to her dog attacking Paddy. But then she offered struggling Moira Dingle a lifeline. With Joe and Kim Tate out to destroy her and get her land, Moira was on the brink. Facing astronomical fines from the water company after the slurry tank leak and losing her biggest contract to the supermarket she was about to lose the farm. But Celia offered her a partnership on a hotel contract and Moira saw light at the end of the tunnel. However when the deal fell through, things looks bleak again. And then we found out Celia was working with the Tates to bring down Moira. And we thought: why can’t women ever just be friends? article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Because truly, women are the foundation of soaps, and yet it’s always woman against woman fighting it out. Boring. But tonight, Celia came clean to Moira and offered to work together to bring down Joe. Despite Moira’s rage, Celia’s insistence she knew how Joe and Kim operated so was a good ally to have won Moira over. Together they visited Joe and said they were now working with each other instead of against. Joe later called Kim and told her they really meant business – and was it just us, or was he quaking in his boots a bit? John’s killing spree is boring now (Credit: ITV) Boring plots are ruining Emmerdale right now Now, things in Emmerdale are dragging a tad. Fans have more than had enough of the John Sugden plot, which promises weekly to be nearing its conclusion and then another twist sees him gain the upper hand again. Comments on Emmerdale Insider’s social media include: “John storyline going on too long now. I keep thinking every week: this is it but nope,” and “John’s storyline is just a joke now. Finish ASAP or else it’s switch off time.” Elsewhere other fans are raging over Vinny framing Kammy for hitting him: “I hate this! I’m so cross at Vinny! Kammy is such a lovely character!” said one annoyed viewer. Meanwhile, we were desperate for Joe Tate to come back, but actually have been left wondering what the point is? Last time his romance with Debbie was fire – the conflict of his hatred for the Dingles and his love for her gripping. But this time, his love for Dawn is unbelievable – literally, we do not buy it at all. And more to the point, we don’t care! And let’s not even go there with Ray and the drug dealing plot. What Emmerdale does not need is another gangster stirring up trouble. Dylan’s redemption storyline would have been far more entertaining if you ask us. Celia and Moira were clear with Joe (Credit: ITV) Why Moira and Celia are the best duo to happen to Emmerdale in ages But the soap might just have saved itself with the Celia and Moira scenes – here’s why. Soap is all about women. Strong women, women with hearts – tough exteriors, but melt-in-the-middle underneath it all. Matriarchs mothers, childless woman, married women, single women, wives and daughters. Wherever you look, women are at the heart of Soapland. Or at least they should be. And that’s something quite often forgotten. Too much do we see gangsters, men fighting, gun drama etc. This year alone the soap has got rid of seven female characters and brought in male ones instead. Then, when we do see women, they are being treated badly by a man, or fighting with each other (usually over a man). So two women teaming up and becoming a force to be reckoned with? Yes please. We loved Celia telling Joe exactly who he was dealing with. The female solidarity at last made us feel all warm and fuzzy. The actresses work well together and could forge a brilliant partnership. And once they’re finished with Joe Tate, we’d like them to take down John Sugden and get rid of drug dealer Ray. More of this please, Emmerdale, it’s the future. Read more: Who’s leaving Emmerdale?
