The Sugden family has been key to some huge storylines recently thanks to serial killer John taking centre-stage. And then in a hugely amazing twist, Robert Sugden made his comeback. And since his return, there has been a lot of emphasis on the Sugden legacy. One person who did help build that legacy was in fact Andy Sugden. With all the drama happening, fans have been wondering if we will get to see him pop up again on our screens. And now, Kelvin has been asked directly whether or not he would return. He had become a wanted man after Chrissie White framed him for the attempted murder of her father, Lawrence. Andy had absolutely nothing to do with this. Robert got Andy a fake passport and helped him get out of the country. That was nine years ago. And Andy has not been seen on our screens ever since, despite the numerous storylines that he should have been involved in. Emmerdale fans have been so convinced that his return is just around the corner. But in the newest update, Kelvin Fletcher had bad news to share. But host Alison Hammond couldn’t resist, and asked Kelvin about the rumours that Andy Sugden is about to return to the village. While he was clearly fond of his time on Emmerdale, it seems that door has shut for Kelvin. He explained: “There have always been those rumours. Emmerdale is in a fantastic place at the minute. Like many others, we are viewers. We are fans of the show. “It’s so different now, to watch the show that I was in for 20 years. I had some amazing memories there. But I think I would be too busy. I don’t think I could stand the two-hour commute.” Emmerdale have been bringing back quite a lot of huge names lately. But this update from Kelvin is sure to devastate many fans who were hoping to see the iconic Andy Sugden back in the village.
