We're not convinced that Callum is really dead April Windsor Kev Townsend Ray Walters Share By Kerry Barrett Nov 1 2025 By Kerry Barrett Nov 1 2025 Our Emmerdale review has left us a bit weary. There seems to be a lot going in on Emmerdale right now, but despite all the action, there isn’t much being sorted out. April’s already awful situation got even worse this week, while there was a lot of argy bargy between Aaron, Kev, Mack and Ross. Plus there were some high-jinks when Kerry and Jai got locked in the depot, and some pretty good Halloween costumes. How cute was Eve as Wednesday Addams? Here’s what we thought of the action in this week’s Emmerdale review. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers April refused to sleep with Callum which is when everything went wrong (Credit: ITV) April’s torment continued This week, April and Dylan made Top Secret plans to run away to Manchester with the money Dylan had stolen from Ray. Their preparations included emotional goodbyes with all the people who care about them. Dylan told Paddy that he was like a dad to him. April shared a moment with brother Leo and dad Marlon. And that left us wondering – for the billionth time during this story – why on earth the teenagers don’t just tell someone what’s going on? Anyway, Ray obviously worked it all out and scuppered the pair’s plans for a secret Mancunian love-nest. So April was forced to scurry off to her ‘meeting’ with a client. Who turned out to be a young Jesse Eisenberg look-a-like rather than the creepy old dude we were all expecting. Jesse, or Callum as he was actually called, was creepy though. April necked a load of vodka and then got cold feet about what she was going to have to do. As she tried to get away, she whacked Callum over the head with a bottle, knocking him out cold. Or killing him? April certainly thought she’d finished him off. She scurried off home, calling Ray in a panic. Celia – who was on a slightly odd date with Bob when she heard what had happened – arrived and sent Ray off to ‘clear up.’ And she told April that she was in it up to her neck. But despite Callum being out cold on the bed when Ray showed up, we’re still not 100 percent convinced that he is really dead. Something about it doesn’t ring true. Ray’s threats are terrifying April but we’re not intimidated by him picking on a little girl (Credit: ITV) Ray and Celia aren’t that scary April and Dylan are clearly terrified of Ray and Celia. The villains are definitely very bad people. Ray’s got a history with the police, and he knew who to call to clear away a body. And he himself is scared of Celia. We know they’re not a nice pair. But we can’t really work them out. Their business appears to be dealing drugs, pimping out teenage girls, and running a turkey farm? And actually they’re not that frightening, are they? We reckon Ray would run a mile if Mandy so much as looked at him funny. Because let’s not forget that despite her name, April is a DINGLE. A Dingle. And the Dingles are tough. Cain is scary. Charity is scary. Aaron is really scary. Goodness, even little Kyle has killed someone. Ray and Celia are no match for them individually and en-masse we reckon the Dingles could run them out of town in minutes. Which is why we are BEGGING April to tell someone. If only to stop Marlon being so pathetic and needy around her. Psycho cakebaker Kev wasn’t impressed by Mack’s intervention (Credit: ITV) Kev vs Aaron in our Emmerdale review Meanwhile, back in the world of actual criminals, Mack was fuming that Kev seemed to be threatening Aaron’s chance of happiness with Robert. So he set up some argy bargy between him and Ross hoping to deal with both of his irritations at once It didn’t work, of course, but it did lead to Ross and Mack being more civil with one another – which is a headache for Charity, but good news for us because they’re really funny. Meanwhile, Kev managed to control his anger and remain calm around Aaron. For now. And he baked a lemon drizzle cake while he was at it. Did we mention we love Kev? Ruby wants to help Anya but Caleb just wants her gone (Credit: ITV) Why is Ruby so obsessed with Anya? Elsewhere, Caleb was trying to get stowaway Anya to leave Emmerdale, while Ruby was trying very hard to make her stay. We love Ruby and we get that she needs an outlet for her maternal feelings. But she’s being a bit weird about Anya. It seems to us that the best way to keep Anya safe is to help her contact the authorities. Mack and Ross are friends now (Credit: ITV) Mack recovered quickly in our Emmerdale review Remember Mack was scared to go out? When was suffering the after-effects of his days spent tied up in John’s weird dungeon. Is he better now? Still cross about Leyla (Credit: ITV) An inquest with no witnesses This week was the inquest into the Leyla, Suzy and Amy’s deaths in the limo crash. This managed to take place without any of the people there who had been a) in the limo, b) driving the limo, or c) standing bewildered in the road as the limo approached. But despite this, the verdict was accidental deaths. Though no one seemed to think it was important to tell Charity that even though she was the one behind the wheel at the time. For the record, we’re still a bit annoyed that Leyla died. Will we ever get over this? Probably not. Share Good to Know Share By Kerry Barrett Nov 1 2025 By Kerry Barrett Nov 1 2025 Next Story
