But just who is the mysterious woman in the van? Well, of course, fans have their theories – and we already love some of them. Though others aren’t quite so realistic! Who is Anya? What is she doing there? And just who is she so afraid of? Anya’s story is yet to be told (Credit: ITV) Caleb discovers a mystery woman in Emmerdale On Wednesday October 22 Joe Tate headed to the depot to try to persuade his uncle Caleb to help him out with the police. Caleb witnessed an accident where Joe ran down Jimmy King. However as they were arguing, they were distracted by a noise at the yard. They located it to the back of one of the vans. When Caleb opened it up, a woman emerged. Ruby then turned up and managed to coax her out of the van. article continues below Read all the latest spoilers Joe soon used this to his advantage, claiming Caleb would be in a lot of trouble if the stowaway was found on their property. Joe then stalled the police so Caleb and Ruby could get her out of sight. It meant Caleb backed Joe as Joe had got him out of a hole too. The woman is being referred to as Anya. Joe pointed out the van had travelled abroad and she was clearly an illegal immigrant. Ruby could tell Anya was unwell and wanted to get her medical help. But Anya refused, so instead Ruby took her home, fed her and let her sleep. Caleb was absolutely furious when he found out. He knows this could implicate them in human trafficking and wants nothing to do with it. Facing a potential prison sentence doesn’t deter Ruby and she asks Liam to come over and look Anya at tonight (Thursday October 23). Liam advises Ruby she needs to call the authorities. But will she? Theories over Anya, the mystery woman in the van in Emmerdale When Anya emerged, the internet was alive with explosive predictions about who she is and what her connection to the village really is. Is Meena back? (Credit: ITV) 1. A Meena recast Meena Jutla was the serial killer we all loved to hate. And some fans saw a similarity between her and newcomer Anya. So much so they wondered if she had been recast and this was Meena’s much-demanded return! “For a minute I thought I was seeing Meena!” said one. When others replied it wasn’t the same actress, someone said: “But that could happen, when people come back into Emmerdale, a totally different person nobody says: ‘hang on you’re not the person who left’…” Others agreed: “I think it’s Meena,” several wrote. Some think he set the whole thing up to blackmail Caleb! “Bet Joe set her up,” said one. “Reckon Joe planted her just to get one over on Caleb,” a second agreed. “Joe behind this hands down!,” added a third. A fourth said: “We all know she was planted by Joe. Caleb’s not thick but how didn’t he put one and one together and get two?!” There’s always more Dingles out there! (Credit: ITV) 3. Another long-lost Dingle “She’ll be another Dingle,” cried one fan. Someone else joked Cain had just spent two weeks abroad so he’s probably her secret dad! “Lost Dingle, they’re always coming out of woodwork,” added one more. “OMG, not another Dingle!” declared a fourth. Tom King might be in prison now, but he has a sister out there (Credit: ITV) 4. Is the woman in the van Tom King’s sister in Emmerdale? Evil Tom King, son of Carl, had a sister called Anya. As far as we know she is still in Dubai, but what if she’s back and in trouble? As many mused over the possibility it could be her, others pointed out this woman is an illegal immigrant, and as Anya’s originally English it doesn’t make sense. But someone else suggested: “Her name’s Anya right? What was Carl King’s daughter’s name? I think it’s her putting on an accent.” Could Celia and Ray be involved in this? (Credit: ITV) 5. A human trafficking storyline Emmerdale are addressing the theme of modern slavery in upcoming scenes and some people believe this will include people trafficking. “Ray into trafficking,” one said suggesting drug dealer Ray is up to other illegal activities. “I think Dylan brought her over in the van Billy drove probably for Ray to traffic or do with drugs,” agreed a second.
