But then a breakthrough comes when little Eve thinks she’s spotted her grandpa in a nearby field. But has Eve really seen Bear? And does he want to be found? Up until recently he believed his dad was in Ireland catching up with his former wrestling buddies. But now he’s discovered Bear has gone missing. Monday’s standalone episode of Emmerdale next week will reveal Bear’s true whereabouts and give viewers a heartbreaking insight into what’s been happening to him. Focusing on the missing 100 days in the character’s life, it will explore how Bear has got caught up in a situation sadly common for people his age. PC Swirling listens on sympathetically and reassures Paddy his dad will probably be okay. The copper adds that he and his team don’t consider there to be any immediate risk. Following the chat, Paddy is left feeling frustrated. Mandy can sense her husband’s anguish and suggests they start looking for Bear together. The couple get to work by contacting the company that Bear hired his car from. Unfortunately they’re not able to provide many details and Paddy starts to question whether Bear deliberately chose to abandon his family. During their outing, the kids decide to play a game of Bear hunt. Eve looks across the field and spots something before excitedly shouting out to Matty that she’s seen Bear. Matty assumes Eve has got muddled up about which Bear she was searching for, and tries to console the confused youngster. He also apologises to Paddy and Mandy for getting Eve’s hopes up. But might Eve have actually seen her grandpa? And will she be the one to crack the case?
