Troubled Charity is harbouring a huge a secret in Emmerdale spoilers

Charity is pregnant, but viewers know there’s a chance it’s Ross’s baby, not Sarah and Jacob’s.

Charity had undergone fertility treatment to act as a surrogate for Sarah, but feared she’d suffered a miscarriage after a fall left her bleeding. Mack gave Charity his blessing to try again and Cain was prepared to fund the next round of IVF. But to everyone’s shock, doctors confirmed Charity was actually pregnant.

Sarah and Jacob’s dream of having a baby had finally come true, but there was another twist in the tale. A flashback revealed Charity had slept with Ross behind Mack’s back. The pair’s drunken hook-up had occurred the same day Charity was rejected by Vanessa and after Ross had been dumped by Steph.

As soon as Ross heard the news about Charity’s pregnancy he knew there was a strong possibility the baby was his. She claimed she’d already discussed it with the consultant, who’d said it was a medical impossibility. But how much longer can Charity go on lying to herself?

Charity confesses to Vanessa

Next week, Ross is intrigued to overhear Sarah telling Vanessa that Mack has ended things with Charity. Moira’s brother has done a disappearing act (or has he been murdered by John?) and Charity is convinced she’s lost him forever.

Ross confronts Charity and asks her outright if Mack found out about her cheating. She denies the accusations and tells Ross to do one.

When Charity later runs into Vanessa all her emotions come to the surface. She breaks down on her former wife, admitting there’s a chance that Sarah’s baby isn’t actually hers. Vanessa assumes Charity means she slept with Mack, and she doesn’t correct her.

Vanessa urges Charity to be honest with her family, but wants to stay living in denial. She swears Vanessa to secrecy and vows to carry on as normal.
